Bigger Tractor

I want more PTO hp to run a brusher, a 3rd loader function with SSQA and at least one rear remote.
My MAX 26 only has 20hp at the PTO, no SSQA and no option to add remotes.
I would like to keep the little MAX, for its size it is very strong. I can't afford to have 2 tractors at this time.
I have just started looking and comparing.
My biggest issue is dealers. I have a Deere dealer that is local. Any other brand dealers are 100 miles or more from me.

The two tractors of different sizes I have really help at my age. I would even miss my excavator, even with the limited hours I put on it. You are really going to miss that Max and will take a $$$$ beating selling it.

Not a lot of discussion about them but I bought a NH Workmaster 50 last summer. If you have a dealer nearby go look at them. They spec out really well. I've had zero issues in 10 months of ownership.

Kioti is running an xlnt sale on their DK5010. 50 hp, with filled tires and loader probably about 5600 lbs. We just took delivery on one. Not all dealers are aware of sale. $20,500 with plain shuttle. $21,500 with hydraulic shuttle. Includes loader. Some dealers are tacking on extra fees, ours did not. Here are a few promotional materials from west coast dealers. S & W Feeds current promotion for Kioti, More Power For Your Money 217 KIOTI DK51 Stock: | Ag-Bag Forage Solutions

I have a LS U5030 (55hp) which has been a great tractor.
But, if this deal on Kioti's had been going on when I was looking, I probably would have swung that way.

Short answer: they are all good, solid tractors.

That looks like quite a deal. There are manufacturers where you can't buy half that tractor for that price.

I wish we had dealers close by so I could test drive one. I would have to make a day trip just to get to the closest dealer to look at any tractors.
There are some dealers 150+ miles from me, but they have no inventory. I am looking at 300+ miles to travel just to look at some of the models and manufacturers.
I have talked to a sales person at Bruno's and they said no sales tax for out of state sales.
That can be a lot of money when you are talking $25K ball park.

When you're talking a long term purchase, $10k or more, at any sort of savings, taking a road trip shouldn't be a huge concern. A 1% savings can cover the fuel cost of doing the shopping. Don't look at it as a hassle to go shop. Tell your wife you don't want the trip to be wasted should you decide to do something else, so you'd like to make it a family outing so you can fill the day with good memories, even if you don't purchase anything. Take the wife and kids and make a day of it. Kids love climbing on the displays and they'll remember the day they went tractor shopping with Dad forever. :D

I just started looking. When the weather gets warmer and we can enjoy being outside, I plan on taking a trip to try out some units.
I was 5 below this morning here.

I am looking at new tractors. I need a bigger unit with more power. 40-60hp is what I am looking at.
Anybody running a new Yanmar YT347 or YT359. Just want to know how it is working for you and if you like it
I am also looking at the Kioti NX tractors. They look like a strong well made unit.
I am also considering LS.
From the info I have gathered so far, Thay are all well made tractors.
I am just looking for your experience with any of the 40-60hp units out there.

Talking about PTO, drawbar or engine hp? My Branson 6530C (65 net 57 PTO) has been good to me for the past 10 years. Lots of whistles and bells and all still working with no problems. To date, rewiring the air seat initially (I did, put on a separate circuit), broke cab door, rock from drum mower (had new in 3 days UPS), messed up some bearings and sleeves in the front axle last year (got the parts and tech help in a few days)....my fault. That's been the problems.

4 cyl naturally aspired Cummins (B 3.3 NA model 4 cyl direct injected) licensed engine built by Komatsu in Japan (make big stuff like Cat. you see at big construction sites) uses .042 g/hp (being used)/hr.

As Sysop says, if you can keep that smaller tractor I'd do it. I have put about 1,000 hrs on my little B7800 (got it with 738 hrs) and it would be the last piece of equipment I'd give up: it has gotten a lot of work done; and though it may take a little longer to do it, it has managed to do just about everything I've asked it to do.

LS, Branson, Kioti, Mahindra (and of course the bigger named ones) you really can't go wrong with. From my personal experience I can say that the dealer is important during the early days of owning a new machine; necessary to deal with new equipment bugs. Long-term, though, I can't say how important it is to have the dealer being close by: I've used my Kubota dealer for parts, for convenience, but I could have just as easily gotten parts from Messicks (or similar).; with my Kioti I plan on doing all the work on it that I can (have done the 50hr service- not really a repair).

My NX readily fits in my garage. Garage door is 9'. I spec'd out my garage knowing I would be getting a larger tractor: also spec'd for any excavator that I would figure would be within my range of ownership. This is my work bay, not a parking spot: I' tend to park one of my extra cars inside there when no repairs or projects are happening. My NX lives outside: it's a cab!

That DK50 sale would be killer. If one could get one with a cab that would be great (of course that would be a few more $$- my cab ran me an extra $3k and I'm glad I went with one).

I'm partial to the Kioti lineup, but have friends who have other brands across the board. You should test drive what is available, even if some significant travel is needed. Make a needs list of exactly what you need the tractor to do and fit the tractor to the needs list, instead of just random shopping what's out there. You'll get closer to what you need than what any dealer wants to sell you from their inventory.
Oh, one exception, only shop Kioti's!:D Just kidding. Let us know what you find/decide to buy.
Good luck, have fun hunting....
