I would have liked to have seen him at least torque higher with them. If I'm getting a 1/2'' drive breaker bar out it is torqued more than 300ftlbs. I have a 3' Snap on that has a slight curve to it and I never used a pipe on it. Breaker bars are pretty simple. If he did destructive testing you might be surprised how well the HF bar would hold up.

Thats why I wanted him to do destructive testing - to hush the green and red people up

A 2' bar and a 175lb man isn't gonna put much more torque than what he did.. at least not w/o bouncing on it.

Wish he had measured deflection and provided a summary chart of all the factors. Pretty poor in price comparison also, you can get the HF online or at the store w/ a 25% discount (instead of 20% he used) frequently.

I had to buy one of those today from Lowe's for $47. I was stranded in the Academy Sports parking lot with a weak battery and no jumper cables. Several attempts to get help from other shoppers yielded nothing. Walked all over AS and couldn't find one so walked next door to Lowe's. They had several models but the 400 was the cheapest and looked like it would work. Fortunately, it had enough charge right out of the box to get me going. And man, that was a hike for me after just getting over the flu and pneumonia. I had to sit in the car and rest a few minutes. I went right back home after that and nearly collapsed. I need to build back strength a little at time.

Darn that sounds like a true ordeal, and I do hope your feeling better soon. On the upside you have a new jumper box and hopefully should last you well! Good to know it did the job too.

I have three Senco tools finish nailer brad nailer and 1/4 crown stapler. All oilless design which is nice for finish work. My Hitachi framing nailer takes oil which is ok for framing.

I'll agree was a bit longwinded and I will admit I fast forwarded to the more objective part of the video. And I was a bit surprised at the results!


I have couple of Harbor Frieght breaker bars that I bought a seriously long time ago at least back into the 90's at bare min.

And I have ALWAYS been impressed with these

A 16" and 24" with a black rubber type grip (Yup and they once had that smell too)

They seemed to had disappeared for a long time though

Also have the same style swivel heads the Pittsburgh Pro Professional he tested.

The standard 24" Pittsburgh Pro version is a bit different. I wonder if there just as good? Had 5 of them to sell last summer everybody liked them...sold them all too! Guess I'll find soon enough.

My old blue/purple colored "pro" 2 in 1 18GA brad nailer is still good and has seen a lot of use. Lost an external spring that helps depth adjustment but fitted a replacement from a universal spring set that works just fine after I trimmed it down

Kind of bummed the plastic case has finally seen its better day though

I own a lot of air tools and my standard procedure is to squirt a tad of WD40 inside on a regular basis.
Have been doing this for 15 years with no issues.(and I have shot many many cases of nails)
WD is also great to clean off the gooey stuff (mostly tars) on my roofing nailer.
And those nailers that have pusher springs also like it.

PS: IMHO Hitachi is 'top of the line' in all pneumatic tools, but all brands appreciate some lubricant..

And DON'T use HF nails or brads or staples. Get some good ones.
