Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Has anybody ever looked through prior year tax files for a specific HF receipt? They're illegible, the register prints them in disappearing ink!

Or maybe it rubs off. Anyhow by tax season they are nearly illegible and a year later mostly indecipherable.

Yep. I've noticed the same thing. Best to take an iphone photo of the receipt when fresh and then toss it. I've never tried to use a photo'd receipt at HF but all the big companies now accept iphone photos of receipts for travel reimbursement so I doubt it would be that difficult to use at HF.

It just occurred to me - my local HF emails a copy of each receipt within hours after the transaction. These would be much easier to print out compared to the tax copies that are stapled together with unrelated stuff.

This new 30% 'discount' on prior purchases might be worth pursuing if you bought a few big-ticket items.

Soooo ... there is a "class" of people who believe they paid too much for a Harbor Freight tool? :hissyfit: Surely, you can't be serious.

I have the electric impact and think it works quite well. Used it on some rusted, old, front end parts. Also have used it on my tractor. Plenty powerful for general work. It would spin off lug nuts without slowing down. I have powered it with their $90 generator when I didn't have electricity to a site.

Anyone else realize that their stuff is perpetually on sale? I can't recall ever paying "full price" for anything at HF.

How different is this than some other industries, car dealers for example. Honda & toyota seem to be among the bigger offenders around here...one ad campaign right after another. Hurry in sale-a thon ends on (date)!! One day later different ad campaign, same prices on the same vehicles. Furniture stores are the same.
I would hope most people are smart enough to see through these bogus "sales".

I just got the class action lawsuit email. It looks like anyone can print out the claim form and take option "C" that is a ten dollar gift certificate. Not a bad investment for a 49 cent stamp and ten minutes of a retired guy's time.

Anyone else realize that their stuff is perpetually on sale? I can't recall ever paying "full price" for anything at HF. And they take an additional 20% off the "sale price" except for the growing list of exclusions.

The 20% off is usually for only 1 item.
I live far enough away that I generally only go there for "big" ticket items. I'll usually pick up several items "on sale" also. But some of their "base" or "full" price still is good enough that I buy it because I'm there, like hooks for chains.

True, but I've found that you can walk right back in the door and buy a second or third item with fresh coupons and they don't blink an eye. And pick up an additional free item, to boot.
