I'm just speculating here... It probably has to do with the increased morbid weight averages in western society.

The tractors are only designed to take a certain amount of abuse and Husky has seen a dramatic increase of warranty work due to grossly overweight 'operators'.

What??????? You don't have any "fat" people in OZ? :D

Good Lord, yes we do... I was attempting to be "sensitive & delicate" to those people.

We may be South & Downunder but we're still a Western society. :)

From MDT:
Towing Capacity - Riding Mower

As a general rule of thumb, using a single-axle trailer and a properly maintained and adjusted tractor, you should be able to pull approximately half the weight of the tractor fairly safely and with control over level ground and over slopes less than 5 degrees.

>The 1000 Series & LT1500 Series can handle a typical lawn cart with a 750 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 650 lbs.
>The iSeries can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.
>The GT1500 Series can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.
>The 2500 and 3000 Series can handle a lawn cart with a 1500 lb. capacity and a lawn roller of 950 lbs.

Look for someone who likes large Hadrons.

She's relativistic and likes her parents and siblings.

She thinks at the speed of light.

She believes in the five fields: electromagnet field, strong force field, weak force field, gravity, and the Sally Field.

Firm believer in the G-String Theory of Everything.

She's kinda quarky.

Likes particle accelerator pedals.

Tractor beams (goes without saying).

Has a tachyon pulse.

Up, down and strange is handy.

Wears gluons in public.

Dark Matter and Dark Energy fan.

Went to a 5th Dimension concert.

Fantastic.

A friend of mine bought a john deer lawn tractor, (I don't remember the model) he pulled a small cart all the time. Some times loaded, sometimes not. He's not a super heavy guy, but something took it's toll, cause after a year or so, the tranny started slipping when he pulled a load...

He declared it a POS and sent it down the road... lol

Good one to show the Husqvarna dealer-

Have to wonder if Husky quit using metal gears in the trans or rear axle???

Lawyers & Judge's, plastic(s), accountant's & our "throw away" mentality.
Like xring100 said, they're building to a price point, only!

Transmission and not motors are the weak point in most of the lower priced mowers. Any mower with a rear tire less than 23" will not have a transmission that will allow a lot of weight to be moved. A lot of the ZTR mowers are set up with great transmissions but still only tow a tiny bit ,if any.

And why do you have that "current" dealer?
husky-ad.jpg
I would figure this husky ad from their web page shows over 350 lb if you add in the operator, trailer, some wood.
