Kubota L5740 HSTC
Good morning, I'm looking for advice from anyone who has a backhoe mounted to their L5740 cab tractor. I have the third function on the loader and one rear remote, installed by the dealer. I spent last evening looking things over, and it looks like the hydraulic pressure comes off the pump at the engine and goes directly into the third function block. From this block, there are the two lines that go up to the loader for the third function outlets, and a pressure line to the loader valve, and then a separate return line to the sump at the bottom of the tractor. The loader valve does not appear to have any extra ports to add a pressure line from the valve body. There is a steel line going from the loader valve to the top of the transmission case, under the seat, which has banjo style fittings on each end. I believe this supplies hydraulic flow to the 3 point hitch, and the rear remote valve. I do not want to plumb the backhoe off my rear remote, and have to mess with bungee cords, reduced flow, etc. I've read a couple threads on here about different plumbing options for this model, and it looks like I've got two or possibly three options to accomplish what I want to do. One option would be to replace the steel line with hydraulic hose and do a loop to the back of the tractor, with a male and female couplers. They would be connected together when not using the backhoe. I'm not sure I would be able to find banjo fittings to replace the hard line, although I believe others have done so. The other option would be to plumb into the pressure line coming from the 3rd function block to the loader valve, but I'd rather not have the backhoe plumbed before the loader. There may be a third option, with the return line from the 3rd function valve to the bottom of the transmission case. If this line always has pressure, this would be the easiest line to make a loop to the back of the tractor, since it uses common NPT hydraulic fittings. Does anyone have any pics of how their power beyond loop is plumbed, or advice on how to do this? I'm really surprised that Kubota doesn't have a kit to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greenrider1, I recently bought a 5740HSTC with the plumbing for the plumbing for the BH92. I broke my leg the week before taking delivery, so I haven't used the tractor much yet, and haven't even mounted the hoe. The hydraulics are totally different than the MX5100 so I am not that familiar with it yet. It has the 3rd Func valve for the loader, and unfortunately I've never seen how the plumbing was done without that and the BH. I will post some photos in another post from my phone. The way it was done on mine was to come out of the loader block and back into the delivery port on top of the rear hydraulics block.

Top photo shows the steel line coming out of the valve block. 2nd photo is the line going back into the delivery port on rear hyd. block (you can see where it transitions from hose to pipe). 3rd photo is another view of the steel line coming out of the loader valve block (stainless pipe at upper left of photo). 4th photo is just showing how they mounted the connectors (plugged together). Hope that helps, to get better photos I'd need to pull the rear wheel, not up to doing that yet.

On your tractor is there a line coming from that loader valve block directly to top of the rear hydraulic block? That's how I imagine it works without the BH plumbing, but not sure.

Also, I want to mention not to use your rear remotes when you have the flow going through your BH, it wrecks the seals in the BH valve block. There is a single sentence about it in the BH92 User Manual. I didn't find out about it until it was too late. Most people probably don't have anything hooked up to rear remotes when the hoe is mounted, but on the MX5100 I have one remote running up to the front for a snow plow. And one winter I had the hoe mounted while plowing snow...

Fattire, I appreciate your response. Sorry to hear about your broken leg. I hope you heal quickly so you can get back in the saddle. I've been on the phone with the dealer I bought my tractor from and they weren't aware of any kits to attach the backhoe, and haven't been able to give me advice on which lines to tap into. Those connections look factory to me. Do you know if they're part of the bh92 installation kit? It's hard to tell from the photo which port on the loader valve it's connected to. I think this is pointing me in the right direction though. Thank you.

Ask your dealer to take a look at BH4944, it should have all that stuff. The subframe is a different P/N, should be BH4945 for a cab tractor. Subframe kit should include two extension plates that mount on the hoe to extend it away from the cab.

On the loader valve block, there are two banjo fittings on the side of the block that faces the left rear tire. They are at about the same height on the block. The BH line is plumbed the rear one. On mine the other one (closer to the front) goes to 3rd Function valve.

BTW, what I learned when looking for a cab tractor is that most Kubota dealers have never done a BH install on a cab tractor. Right now you probably know as much about it as most of the dealer techs. I did not get any documentation on mine, so I don't know if the BH4944 kit had an exploded diagram or anything like that.

So I need to replace the steel line in the middle pic that runs between the loader valve block (last pic) and the top of the transmission case (1st pic). I took the line off last night and stopped in at Napa today to see if they had some banjo fittings so I could make my own, but unfortunately they didn't have anything that big. Again, I really appreciate your time helping me. Hopefully I can get the parts to do this the right way. This should be an option/kit available right through Kubota just like the 3rd function and rear remotes.20170519_163402.jpg20170519_165656.jpg20170519_163325.jpg

Sorry I didn't see your question at the end. Yes there is a steel line from the factory, which I removed to see what I was dealing with (see line in above pics). I'm going back out to my barn now to put it back on so I can use the tractor until I get the right parts. Thanks again.
