Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Off-topic, some may find this amusing: I sold the HF drill press I mentioned above at a neighborhood yard sale.

Late in the day I let a customer talk me down to $20 for the drill press. But he said ""My wife's going to kill me". Ok, not my problem. Anticipating he might back out, I had my kids carry the unit across the street to his car while he looked at other stuff.

Then a woman came back from the sale across the street and looked around some more. "Where's the drill press?" I just sold it to this guy. 'But I wanted it!" Sorry, it's sold. Then - we learned it was the customer's wife. He asked her for a $20 bill to pay for it. She handed it to me and demanded $5 change. I refused. Sorry lady, I negotiated the price with this guy, not with you.

She started screaming at me and her husband, that last $5 was for a snack at the ice cream shop before they drove home. Sorry lady, its sold and now paid for, that's all there is to it. She looked like she was going to ask her husband to punch me, he just looked embarrassed like she was calling him a wimp. After a couple more attempts to get $5 back they finally left with her still screaming at her husband. Poor guy.

How in the world did you hold down the tank against that kind of torque? Long before that handle would bend, I'm picturing the tank flopping around like a dolphin that jumped into your boat.

I was thinking the same thing.

Didn't have any problem. The feet are on vibration isolators, and they provide a LOT of resistance. One boy hanging off of one side of the tank, the other and me on the pipe, pushing down.

Was she ugly looking as well as ugly acting?

Even a beautiful woman looks ugly with a bad attitude. The ugly ones look even uglier....

Anyone use the HF (warrior) 4 1/2" grinding wheels? I'm always going through them and usually don't think ahead enough to stock up. I think this Saturday I'll be driving right by a HF and thought I might pick up some if others had good luck with them. I usually get 1/4" thick and thinner ones for cut off. I think the thin ones are around .1" thick, not the real thin ones.
