Buying Advice Recommendations for first tractor (Kubota)

I happened to go by the local Kubota dealer;he had a L2501 on the lot set up with R1's,no FEL.I was impressed by the physical size;very similar to our L3000DT.I have been reading about them(not in the market) and liked what I saw.

Get in your car and go sign the paper on that Kubota and start getting work done. You could spend weeks and lots of gas accomplishing nothing. If your FIL has already had good experiences with that dealer that he sent you too, then its a no brainer. Get the Kubota.

Yeah, just pay full sticker plus prep charges. Pay whatever he wants. Only fools waste time comparison shopping.

Well, I went out today to look at non-Kubota tractors. The Mahindra dealer or lack thereof was embarrassing. We missed the building and had to turn around to barely see their banner on the building. Drove around back to see only THREE tractors. Did not stop to talk. The next closest Mahindra dealer is the same owner and 2 hours away.

Next was john deere. I sat on the 3025e and was immediately disappointed by the seat. Would not want to spend that kind of money and get a poor quality and comfort seat. The 3033R on the lot looked nice but was out of my budget.

Kioti was last. I really liked the CK3510 HST, enough to where I was strongly considering it. Until they told me the financing was 5.99%. Deal breaker for me.

Looks like I will end up back where I started...

Run the numbers and see what the total cost really is. Then buy the tractor YOU like best.

The problem is that you really cant compare two tractors without actually running them for an hour apiece. The only thing you can go off of is a piece of paper and the salesman your dealing with. It could look good on paper but putting all the specs together might not good together as much as you would think. That is why I would shop the dealership. Any tractor you look at will look nice brand new pulled out front ready to sell.

Agree although ergonomics can be assessed in a showroom and most dealers I've dealt with have a pile of sand or something like it and a demo tractor that can be used somewhere on their lot. I appreciate that for folks who need to drive two hours to a dealership this is an inconvenience but most people plan their tractor purchases months in advance. It's not like your trusty commuter vehicle just rolled over dead and you need to replace it over the weekend. I still think it is a good idea to see and touch at least three different color tractors* before getting serious about deal making. (*Kubota orange and Kioti orange are different. Kioti orange is Chevy Engine Orange:D).

I own Deere, Kubota and CAT TLB

If I could only keep one it would be my little BX23...

That said when my brother was buying his place he decided on a BX and I talked him out of it... the Kubota Dealer had new 100 hour harvest returns with full warranty and these were pre the final emissions...

It's been almost 3 years and he really likes his L series and agrees the BX would have been too small...

Of the 3 the Kubota tractors have been the most reliable and trouble free although the Deere and CAT were bought used and have provided very good service.

Heck.. the original BX battery will soon be 14 years old and that is incredible in my book.

Thank you for all of the replies again. I could never have imagined getting so many responses. Be them serious or a little joking haha.

I really wanted to try out a Mahindra after seeing some videos on YouTube. But I just can't have a dealer so far away for my first.

The interest charges alone on the Kioti would be $3607. They told me for a CK3510 HST $18700 (Cash price) @ 5.99%. Total price of loan $22307. To get 0% they add $2500 to the price making it $21200. (all plus state sales tax figured in somewhere).

We close in 4 weeks so there is still plenty of time to compare and visit dealers. I would rather spend more time and gas now than after and regret a big purchase.

Ultrarunner: I have done one ultra myself and then got hurt 6 months after. Making my comeback slowly from surger last year!

10-4 my mistake. The way I read it was that you were saying that John Deere cost more money than Kubota in that horsepower range; which is not true. My mistake

The only JD that has ever come out priced lower than a Kubota when I priced them was the E series with the Aluminum housing and it clearly wasn't the equivalent of its intended competition!

Have you priced tractors in that horsepower range lately? John Deere and Kubota are priced equal in my neck of the woods.

Apparently not in the northeast. I recently upgraded from a John Deere sub-compact to cab CUT. JD was thousands more, my JD dealership service department had questionable service practices, the JD sales department couldn't be bothered to get out of their chairs to show a tractor and my previous JD (while a very good tractor) wasn't without it's issues.

(I have since seen there was some confusion on the pricing comment but the rest of my point is correct from what I have seen)

To the OP: there are plenty of "opinions" on here. In general green and orange groups seem to be (for a lack of a better description) stuck in their ways. (And in no way am saying they are not good tractors) For those of us who have gotten past "paint color" and done some research, their are other options. IMO. If you haven't already, look thru the other brand specific forums. You will find the "top" brands have issues too and the "off" brands don't have as many as some would like you to believe. Get out, sit in them, drive them, find the one that fits your needs. A lot of good info on here, take it all in but you need to sort thru it and make your own decision.

Good luck.

So almost exactly $50! If that's what you want, skip chilis or Texas Roadhouse and get it! After a few months of making the note you'll adjust and be good

Brett
Looks like $3070 to me. $25355 vs $22285
