My GC 2300 will not die...at all...ignition switch, seat switch, etc...just will not cut off. I had to pull the air intake and cover it for a few seconds to kill the thing. So...

(a) I swear...last time this happened, the dealer showed me a "secret" spot to push and it killed the machine...didn't take notes apparently...anybody know such a switch/point to kill?

yes...it is an outside tractor and mice repeatedly make nests. gotta remove that tomorrow.

But..(b) anyone know exactly "how" to bypass the seat switch...which wires, etc to connect...relatively permanently...so I can bypass that part of the problem? (and I am aware of the safety issue involved).

thanks for your help

There should be a momentary switch on the fuel cut off solenoid to kill the fuel. Look for the switch with a wire on it somewhere on the injection pump.

There was someone who mentioned the seat switch is not in the starting circuit, rather it's in the fuel circuit. I believe the context was on the 1700 GC series, however iseki might have kept that set up from the prior model.

I would start testing wires, and you'll find it.

Check the 5 amp fuse in the fusebox. Should be the innermost of the 4 fuses. Mine blew a month ago, replaced the fuse, shuts down fine now.

Fuel Solenoid has a rubber cap on the front that will shift when pushed in, stopping fuel flow to the engine.

The fuse box is easily accessed be removing the cover under the throttle on the right side. The 5amp (orange) fuse on the inside operates the fuel shutoff.

Fabric softener dryer sheets are the best I've found for discouraging mice. The strong odor doesn't let them smell predators, so they will avoid as much as possible.

A piece of wire with crimped fittings on the end. Just disconnect the seat safety switch and insert. It renders the safety switch inoperable, but I have had to do it to run a woodchipper.

DMW, thanks for the great pics & explanation! I also have a seat switch by-pass (mine uses spade terminals), but I didn't know about the fuel shut-off "button." Thanks!!
