I recently acquired a 1964 JD 110 lawn tractor as a project (but also for some light use). It came with 6 - 12 Ag rears which are serviceable but the better half would prefer Turf tires to minimize the damage. My investigations led me to believe a 8 - 12 was the original turf tire size and while I like the idea of sticking with the tires the tractor originally spec'd, I am not stuck on it.

That said I can find nothing on my web search for tires that size. Add additional consideration is the mounting - the axle has an odd (to me) three bolt pattern with irregular spacing.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

I'm confused about the mounting. That picture shows five lug rim. The axle may only use three of the lugs, but measure the lug spacing and center hole. You should be able to find the same spacing in other 5 lug wheels.

You are correct. I have a similar vintage tractor that also uses 3 out of 5 lugs.

To to cederrapidstire.com and look under bar tires. They have em. After reading your post more carefully they "may not" have them in turf. Look around though . They list alot

Thanks all. I assume I will need to find a wider wheel for the turfs - the info I dug up from TractorData.com John Deere 11 tractor dimensions information suggests the turfs are an 8 - 12. I guess that goes on the 7" wheel you mention K7LN (and thanks for the tire size info - that should help). The current ags are 6" wide - what the actual wheel is, I am not sure. When measuring the wheel width is it inside dimension or outside that matters?

Assuming I can find a wheel of that size I would need ensure it's a five hole bolt pattern with the same lug distances as the current wheel to fit the 3 bolt axle (boy this is getting complicated!). Then to find the tire - (thanks for the lead "4get gto" - I will check it out).

The joy of a "older" project...

Are you sure it's not just missing 2 bolts?

Some of the JD and wheel horse mowers only used 3 of the 5 bolt pattern. CC used all 5 but used the same size rim and tire as the JD.
