I have an L2501 and I use a 6' heavy box blade with mine. I would go for the 6' if I were you. It's nice to have the rear tires covered when using it for smoothing off, after working the driveway. Mine doesn't have any trouble with it unless I fill it up with wet dirt/sand. The 4 wd usually pulls it ok.

Yep... what I paid! But I traded up to a L3301 because the L2501 was so noisy.

Smells like a diesel, sounds like a diesel, no DPF, lower price, what could be better? I use hearing protection 100% of the time anyway.

Alanferg, I would definitely add the rear remotes. IMO they will come in handy at some point and time. Make sure you get a couple of quotes to see about the price range. Also, I live in the same neck of the woods as you and you may want to think of adding a cab. It gets really cold here in the winter when trying to blow snow.

Believe me, I would absolutely love a cab AND front snowblower but can not afford that brand new. Will have to bundle up and stick with ROPS and rear snowblower. However, been looking at used tractors with cabs this weekend and that may fit my budget.

Sounds high to me. I priced L2501 with loader and backhoe with rebates was $23,000 without tax. That was in December.

I wouldn't even be here right now if I was quoted $23,000 for the tractor, loader, and backhoe--I'd be playing in the dirt with my brand new tractor . The backhoe alone is $8,000 with rebates. Kudos to you. Retail online is $16,533 not including loader. However the 2WD model retails for around $13,000. I'm looking at 4WD HST.

So, what are you gonna use the backhoe for? $8000 is a bunch of money for what amounts to a very small hoe. You could rent a mini-ex a lot of times for half that money. Just my .02, but if I was using a snowblower in Maine, I'd sure like a cab. I'd skip the hoe and get a cab myself, but perhaps you have some big hoe projects lined up.

Oh Yes, sometimes I wonder if its so much the price of a new tractor as it is the everlasting costs of continued purchases of "needed" implements.

I own two other Kubota Diesels. And have operated many more. None of them had the nauseating smell of the L2501.

Do you own a L2501?

Considering calling Barlows in Somerset KY and see what they price one at. I think they deliver out of state.
