Advice from a driving instructor many years ago (at a facility that shall go unnamed) that served me well in a few assault driving situations while attempting to evade capture in armoured Land Cruisers on run flat tires, having been rudely relieved of the pneumatic component while enduring a slightly uncomfortable amount of reasonably well aimed 7.62x39; "Get off of the "X"; keep the shiney side up and the rubber side down...now drive it like you stole it!"
