In reference to the pictures we have seen in here of horses in the back of pickups. As a kid I had relatives that hauled horses and other live stock in the back of pickups all the time. Livestock racks were used of course. Still can have problems, ESPECIALLY with horses. I loaded up a colt one time and tied him off with a short lead in the middle of the front of the rack. Went in to the house to tell dad we were ready to go. Came out and the darn colt was OUT of the pickup hanging from that short lead with its rear feet barely on the ground. Thank goodness nothing was hurt, just me in shock. Not to long after that had a mare kick thru the bars and bust out the back window of the pickup. When I got out on my own I have made sure that i have never ever hauled stock in anything with out a top of some kind. Even animals used to being hauled have their moments and things go wrong fast. Not to mention the affects from other traffic and what not that you can not plan on.
