I'm pretty upset. - new Mahindra 1533 and backhoe (1538b)

Glad you are liking the backhoe for the most part. The 1538B backhoe as well as it's smaller brother the 1526B backhoe are both built by KMW in Kansas and they build a pretty good backhoe. Well balanced for the machine, well sorted out, very few problems.

As to the controls not being super well balanced, that is a comment we get from guys that have run excavators and big backhoes. But remember that a full valve bank (pilot controls etc) for a "real" excavator will cost more than this entire backhoe costs. So it is a balance between cost and features and I think this backhoe pretty much nails it.

Still no hat, I went to the owner club site (https://www.mahindraownersclub.com/) and tried to enter in my serial number but it was rejected as "bad or already used" so perhaps my dealer has registered it for me.

We paid about the same price, the shuttle was about $1k less than the HST but you got the BB so got a better deal.

I've figured out a better system for the seat (not the way the dealer showed me) and it's working better now. I also mounted a double wide ammo box off the side of the tractor for my chains and pins.

I'd like to see some pics of your tool box. I need to get one on mine. I figure with the backhoe, that's about the only place to put one.

The find that the swivel seat can sometimes be a real PITA.

Hi Ken, long time no sea. Did you buy it from Tony at Superior? I bought my Kioti from him 7 years ago and made the last payment this month. He has always treated me fairly. If you want a Mahindra hat I have a new one I'll send you if you PM me your address. I worked for ATI in The Dalles for a couple of years and they sell Mahindra there. The hats are not fancy just the give away ones they handed out when we took on the line. Take care.

I knew I should have used a new name Great to hear from you. Yep, he suckered me in. I was right there with the Kioti (of course, right?) but the whole Tier 4 emission thing swung me into the Mahindra. Just kidding about the hat - I'm sure it will come in the mail someday. Funny hearing from you, I was just planning out my second season elk hunt, still wondering what to do about MD since I didn't get tags in OR...again.

What have you been up to? Everything is going well I hope!

Thanks. That's about what I was thinking to do but yours is much simpler as I was going to use the step mount as you did but was going to make a frame to secure the tool box rather than just bolt the box to the mount. Your's is likely the better idea as simpler is almost always better.

Got ya. Yeah for me it's crazy hot but I'm used to the NW so when it breaks 85 I start to ***** and moan. I'm running out of water (snow melt) at work but it's all surreal since its all dope dealers complaining now days <sigh>.
