Nice trailer. What is it rated for. Just curious.

It's rated for 11,000 lbs. But it has 2 - 7000 lb axles on it. I asked for it to be rated at 11,000 so that if I pull it with a 14,000 lb dually, I will be under CDL requirement.

Awhile back in this "OLD" thread, Gary Fowler stated that this trailer was "a bit of overkill for just hauling your tractor" and he was correct. Just thought I would update this a bit with a couple of pictures to show what I use the trailer for.

I thought a CDL was required OVER 26,001 LBS.
Why not a 12,000 lb trailer rating, with 14,000 lb. dually, or is the dually slightly over 14,000 lbs.?

You are correct about the 26,001 for CDL, and I think my trailer is actually at 11,900 lbs.

Thanks for the update. How are you getting along with the 10 ply tires? I still have not had any issues since going to the 14 ply, but I still try to avoid sharp turns with a load, especially on pavement.

And you think you are not over your gcvwr for that single rear wheel Chevy? I'm not sure what year it is but it's not a 2017 and even the new Chevy dually 1 tons are way behind Ford and Ram for towing.

I never said i wasnt over weight except for my old trailer and this tread was about me overloading my old trailer. Yes, the 03 chevy under this trailer is overloaded if i max out the trailer. I have a 2017 GMC 1 ton dually that will one day inherit this trailer but for now, i go easy and dont go far and none of these loads are "normal". Usually, im in overkill mode. Lol. Too much trailer, not a lot of weight

In Massachusetts yes, but all states are not the same. Some states have a non commercial drivers license. They should just stick with the federal guidelines that way all states would have the same laws. Maybe some year!!
