Far and away the big users of the USPS is bulk mailers.... sending the same crap they have on their webpages.
I like the usps. The biggest problem I have had there is the long lines. All the delivery people have been courteous and caring. Don't they hire a lot of veterans as well?
Everything I've seen farmed out goes to heck real quick. Contractors just want their money .
Vets get a 5 point preference, disabled vets get 10 points. That is the number of points added to their test scores when applying for career jobs. However, the PO is not hiring career employees, just temps.
Wouldn't be a bad retirement job even as a temp. Decent exercise, low stress. But then I would have to take public money, maybe not such a good idea. Can't see doing that.
So, no full timers anymore? Becoming a company of part time/temps? That's the 2nd surest way to flush it down the toilet, 1st being contract labor.Vets get a 5 point preference, disabled vets get 10 points. USPS should have been gone long ago... turn it over to private, competitive service. We no longer need a federal government to deliver mail. Let the free market prevail.
