Yes, agree but the guy on minimal salary with mortgage and 3 overextended credit cards will never qualify for the loan to buy a new electric car.
Shucks he buys 2-3 clunkers a year as they die off one after the other.
He has no choice as he can't afford the repair bills but sharks will finance a new clunker.

Are you saying rebates should only be available on items that everyone can afford?

You know the current target for 5G is 1gbps in metro areas? That's not 10x increase it's a 25x increase which will be rolling out in the next 10 years.

We already have point to point links in the 10s of gbps.

We're also already exceeding the traditional Shannon limit using CDMA + compression.

If you want to stick your head in the sand and say that nothing will ever improve that's your prerogative. However don't be surprised when the world moves forward with or without you. No amount of yelling "get off my lawn" is gonna change that.

I think you're even under selling 5G. The proposal is for it to have 10,000x the capacity of current networks.

If you understood how it worked , you would realize that that high speed data is via using several frequencies simultaneously . Fine if close to the cell tower(s) and if the cell tower is operating much below it’s max number of connected phones in the middle of the night.
As the cell tower loads down mid day at lunch time . Each phone is only going to going to be connected to the tower with only one download frequency and that frequency maybe 10% duty cycle as it is also being shared with 10 other customers .
You can open as many water taps as you want in the house , barn and shed simultaneously. The total accumulated volume in 10 minutes isn’t going to be different if there is two or ten taps open. There is a bottle neck.

You seem to be stuck on this same argument. No one argues that present battery technology will lead us to the holy grail. Improvement will require new battery technologies.
More like discoveries not improvements.

Kind of like jet travel getting faster? We're all still stuck at .9 Mach, just like the 707 days.

Nice job moving the goalpost.

You said that cellular data rates weren't going to increase more than 10x in the next 10 years. You want to walk that back now that you've proven that we're going to exceed it?

I work in that industry, I have an idea or two in what carries do to hit their data capacity ;). You might want to look up CDMA which let's you serve many users over a single channel simultaneously.
