The diesels are "Cummins" in name only, just don't get the idea that they are HD or like the Cummins you see in construction equipment...

In years past, I personally have seen five Branson's broken in half at the bell housing... Hopefully they have corrected that by now...

Now that they have been bought out by TYM, I'm betting there will be some "parts sharing" going on and that's probably a good thing...

My understanding is that the "Cummins" diesels in Branson tractors are built in Korea under license from Cummins so, same name, but made in Korea.

If I was shopping for a tractor, I would look at Branson, but consider it more of a grey market tractor that will be difficult to get parts for. The price would have to be very good to buy another one.

There's some Branson dealers who are willing to ship parts. Dave's Tractor here in CA does that. I bought my Branson from them even though they're 300 miles away.

I've been really happy with my 3725 and Dave's as a dealer.

Both Good Posts!

When I bought my Century tractor brand new in 2003, Cummins had partnered with Kujco back then. It was part of why I thought it was a good tractor. But thats not the problem. Support is where they fail.

I have been quite happy with mine so far, size, weight, hp, FEL lift stats, I think it's a good value. I still have less than 50 hrs on mine, so honestly, I would be shocked if there were any issues already. Satisfied with my dealer as well, so no complaints. Glad I didn't spend half again more for just a different color paint and less capacity and chassis weight.

I don't see much about them on here.....What are your thoughts on them. Looking at the literature, they sure seem to be ok.

Are they worth looking into further or should I stay away from them? I noticed also they had the different series' in the same hp. Looks like frame sizing/weight differences....(?)

Obviously I like mine. I bought the 6530 because of it's whistles and bells. Has been a great companion. Was not cheap nor is it a cheap product. I bought the 2400 for around the place chores and it was cheap...cheapest bottom of the line probably of all the brands. It's not built cheaply, just no whistles and bells to speak of. I didn't shop for it. I called, dealer he said $12,400 in Jan of last year, said I'll be right there.....he said I'm sold out. Truck will arrive in a few days. It did he called, I went over with my trailer and a check and took it home. Have spend a fair amount to customize it to suit me for a soft ride but for a young guy this wouldn't have been necessary....well maybe the canopy.

I have had the 5220R for going on 3 years and I am very happy with it. It is a heavy tractor and plenty stout. Before I bought mine I looked at most of the other brands in the 40-50HP range and Branson seemed to me to be the best bang for the buck.

""The diesels are "Cummins" in name only,....." and just where did you obtain that information??????? Speculation?????????
When you license somebody to build your equipment they get inspected and they are under contract to adhere to the letter of the spec., your spec. It's not just name only. If you were in industry maybe you would be aware of such. Back in 2007 my 65 hp. Cummins licensed engine was built by Komatsu, the Japanese heavy equipment guys you see at construction sites with the popular Caterpillar brand of heavy construction equipment. Seems Kukje has provided suitable manufacturing facilities on their own where Cummins now licenses them, at least for some of the sizes. My 2016 Branson is a Kukje production of the Cummins license for the 24 hp diesel.

I've Had my 4720 for over two years now and am very pleased with it. I only wish I had the cash at the time to buy bigger, not because it's to small it's just I like big. Have no complaints with dealer I purchased from in Texas and have had no problems with getting maintenance parts or repair parts the few I have needed. Experience with Branson as a whole has been exceptional. IMO someone that doesn't own one or hasn't owned one doesn't have a dog in the fight when it comes to criticizing them. It's kinda like the ford and Chevy fight.
