Unfortunate. It just confounds and confuses the whole "criminal" justice process. The Federal government needs to be more absolute in its direction on this issue. Either they are all in, or they are all out.
I am waiting to hear of Federal overreach any minute now.....

Being a reporter is akin to being a weather person. You can say anything you want with no accountability. For example, the second paragraph of the lengthy story about nothing.
The people familiar with the plan spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it before an announcement expected Thursday.
My Sister-In-Law and husband own one of the first shops in Colorado Springs. They have said from the beginning that the Feds will one day curtail these sales. In the beginning their bank would not guarantee their deposits. So they hid cash under the mattress. They still own no real estate property other than their store buildings. Lease equipment rather than buy. Arm themselves like Ft Knox. Have had numerous attempted break-ins.
The Liberal approach to loosening the binding laws regarding MJ has actually created a whole new underground and criminal element.

There are several stalled bills in congress now that allow for both medical and recreational use of pot...if enough voters express their views to their senators and representatives...they (voters) could force the governments hand on the matter...
IMO until there is federal legislation allowing the use...no states have any right to overstep federal laws period...why have laws if they are not going to be enforced...
The previous administration was so full of itself it acted like America was ruled by a king and thought they could ignore or enforce laws at their own whims...

Not true. Reporters at newspapers, AP, etc.. have to be accurate to avoid libel because they are reporting the story as fact. Whereas internet bloggers and opinion writers can pretty much say whatever they want, because its opinion, not accountable facts.

So why did the reporter throw the absolute disclaimer into the discussion with the paragraph I quoted?
By doing so no court in the land could convict this lady from anything she quotes as coming from her source.
This lady needed to pay her bills for the day. So she wrote this story. With no credible support. And six months from now she may write a story completely contradicting this one and simply copy/paste her second paragraph into that one. Happens hourly in the news media. Is happening as we speak.
