Plas62 was the poster that had broken both rear axles. One side , then later on the other. I haven't seen him here in a while. Either the axles he had were not up to par or possibly over stressed the axles. I seem to remember he got a lot done with that little rig. Also much of the work done while in 2 wheel drive. May or may not have helped in 4WD if he was working the rear wheels. He felt strongly that the differential lock wasn't an issue and in fact made a lock out so that it couldn't be used by accident after # 1 axle had broken.
Maybe referring to wheels like ours that have a fixed center as being welded, rather than those that have an adjustable center?

sorry that post is lacking the details again... the center is welded off center to the back of the rim rather then centered in the rim as i thought it was in me previous post about changing the tires around... They are most certainly welded!
Does that make any since?
What liquid is used for ballast and doesn't it corrode your wheels? With or without tubes?

yeah rim gaurd is probably the only one that wont "corrrode" the wheels. But methanol and ethanol is pretty common for use these days.
I was actually wondering what would happen if you use a oxygen scavenger and PH balancer like used in boiler systems? Need only 1 cup per 15 gallons or so.

yeah that's a ethanol/methanol product. Just easier to get your hands on. Its what I used
