That is ALWAYS one of my major concerns when I reach the very end of my driveway, where it dumps out onto the county road. My plowing the end of the driveway and mailbox area puts me out on the county road for about an hour. I have EVERY light, blinker and the beacon atop my canopy going full bore during this operation.

My tractor is big enough and flashing enough that folk DO slow down. I always stop and pull off the road when I see somebody coming. I give everybody a big wave of thanks for slowing down.

Throwing a wrench in the mix is that DWI. She's in some deep do do.

Very likely she will be spending time in grey bar city.

"Thinking" If a full blown out drunk comes down the road and the tractor driver pulls into his /her path who caused the accident?

Since he was ejected, this is probably another example of where a seatbelt probably would have helped. A couple of years ago a car hit a forklift down the road from my shop. The operator was wearing a seatbelt, got a little banged up, but walked away from the accident. The car was totaled.

Seems to be more and more of it lately. :(

It would not surprise me if some upcoming safety regulation required seat belt use just like in cars.
Real PITA if you are on and off...but so many of these accidents/injuries could have been lessened with seat belts. Our cabs are
not forgiving environments like our cars, and were never designed for high speed collisions, but I sure don't want to land in the road...

I think about this anytime I'm clearing my mailbox area, which borders a state road. Most of my snow removal is done at night after I get home from work and it's usually pitch black outside. I wait to do the mailbox until very last, there's rarely any traffic. Three swipes with the snowblower on my Power King and I'm done, but I make sure there are no cars coming since the last swipe my right side tires on on the white line. Nobody slows down anymore, too busy on their phones or getting where they gotta go, and they don't comprehend the dangers of cruising past me at 50mph in the slush while I'm on my PK or my MF35 clearing snow at the road's edge.

Best just to wait until later when there's nobody around. Maybe keep the neighbors up for an extra few minutes. ;)

I have a fair amount of road frontage on two relatively busy country roads. Older folks slow down usually, younger ones see us as a nuisance in their way, and they definitely
think they have the right of way. I've had cars go by me at 50mph five feet away from my mower. Scares the crap out of me. Now I try to do most of that mowing with my cab Kubota with every high powered LED lit up like a Christmas tree. The worst are the trucks that go right next to you when they can easily move to the center of the road if no one is coming the other way.
Most do but some guys are real morons. I swear some do it on purpose.

I think I may have to use my rotating LED beacon light I have, a magnetic one, for the tractor, and use it on my mower. I already have a little blinky LED light back there and always drive with the lights on, but between a car and my JD X750, I'm toast.

We have a lot of crack and opiod stoners driving the road. Usually a little slower but I worry about them just driving into the back of me as they nod off.
One carload went into a neighbor's bean field last year. Chuffing glue. Add texting and phone use to that, it's dangerous out there.
