I super excited to get the tractor home. I will need to go back next weekend to get the implements.
I wasn’t even sure how to tie it down properly but managed.
The seller only had the tractor for 2 years and said he changed the oil at the beginning of the mowing season.
That means I need to do it all. (400 hour service)
I’ve done small things like change the oil on my truck but hydraulics are foreign to me. Fortunately I am not afraid to read and figure out new stuff.
I’m going to try to post a picture.
I’m can’t believe at 55 I’m excited like I was with my first car

From the looks of it, you did yourself a real favor! You should get many years of service and work from this machine.
If you decide you need a grapple, find a buddy who can cut and weld, and install the Kubota SSQA kit to the loader and bucket. It can be done: the previous owner of my tractor did it, and except for some grinding marks under the shiny new paint on the bucket, you'd think it was from the factory.

Thank you Varmint,
a SSQA and grapple are on “the list” but I’ll have to wait. First I need to figure out the maint and operation and do a few things to make my sweetheart glad we bought the tractor.... then I’ll sell her on the “need” for a few more attachments.

It's hard to justify attachments to someone that doesn't appreciate or understand their use. With that said, every time you add an attachment you added justification for the tractor. A tractor only becomes useful because of the tools attached to it.

For a "young" man like you the downside to more attachments is they make the operator more lazy. I'll spend a couple minutes trying to pick up a small object with the grapple rather than get off the seat and do it by hand. :D

FUNNY BUT PROBABLY TRUE.
I am pretty sure once my wife sees how much I can get done she will eventually come around to a grapple.
Thanks for the young man comment. 5-8 more years in the At&T labor camp and I will find all kind of things to do... I just want to enjoy the journey to that day.

The last few years before I retired crawled by. Now every time I turn around it's a different month.....

Retired can be good. I've been there for around 20 years, and I literally have no idea how a guy can work a job and still do all the stuff around a property that's waiting to be done! Maybe our energy levels diminish as we age?

As for the grapple vs. wife's approval, just enlist her help with gathering and moving brush and whatever a grapple could help with. Then, once she has an understanding of the work involved, explain how a grapple would help. Easy. Hearing about something is one thing, while actually doing it is so much more enlightening!
