You live in totally weird country. There is something wrong with it. Like the Sun supposed to move from left to right. But in Australia has to have something special. The Sun moves from right to left. How it is possible that that you celebrate Christmas in swimsuit on a beach while we are freezing our buts off. How your goverment does it is way beyond my understanding.

I just really don't understand the rise of this flat earth thing. It has become much more prevalent in the last few years. I would be willing to bet there are people on this forum that are flat earthers. This phenomenon needs to be investigated. This mental disorder says something about our society and the state of our education system.

:laughing: Yeah, and what really bothers me is how "there be dragons" out there if you fall off when you get to the edge...and why don't you just float? Will the earth's gravity suck you up underneath? Is that the underworld? Why aren't our astronauts exploring it? This is all so confusing. Where is Einstein, Sir Isaac, Kepler and Galileo when you need them?

Ok, but why so much more prevalent than in the past? There have always been a few loose nuts that were flat earthers, mostly in England, but always such a small fringe as to be ignore-able. But now I think we have millions that think we live in some sort of enclosure, that there is no outer space, that the sun is a few thousand miles away etc. All sorts of crazy crap.

Pythagoras had this all figured out a long time ago. The size of the earth was actually measured about 2500 years ago using geometry and I remember recreating the proof in my Geometry class my sophomore year in high school. I am beginning to think that the average ancient man on the street was a lot smarter than the average man on our modern streets.
