Is there such thing as an electric cylinder to replace a hydraulic one?

I have a 6' snowblower with hydraulic chute and angle control and would like to use on a B7800 that has no remote valves. I'm not going t put them on it, either . I have other tractors with remotes but they don't work best with this snowblower. Electric would work on the B7800 and wish I could find electric cylinders to use in place of the hydraulic unit. Maybe electric over hydraulic? Are such things even available?

look at linear actuators.. Others here have modified the blower by using electric wiper or window motors.

Of course there are. There is a motor mounted on a little gear box, that spins a screw to move the "cylinder". We use them all the time and they work quite well. They are called electric actuators.

hank you for the info. Where do you look for these? Are some made to specifically replace the common 8" stroke hydraulic cylinder?

Here is a 12" one. I'm not sure how much power you need, but they gear this differently and get 500 something to 2000lbs out of them with this version. You should be able to find a 8" stroke one as well.

Those I've seen are light duty or very expensive.

An alternative would be a small hydraulic pump and tank, like is used for trim and tilt on outboard boats.

To do the same work of a hydraulic cylinder, I'd think (no engineer) it would take a lot of amps to run one.
