My plan is to burn coal when firewood becomes too hard to do. Right now it's fun & rewarding for me and I have more acre's of it than I ever dreamed of owning. I'll be replacing my wood boiler with one of their coal boilers at that time.

I remember when I was a kid watching my dad shovel coal into a big ole furnace. It looked simple. When we were building our place here we spent a couple years living in the basement with a hot plate, table, bed, and wood/coal stove. The first year I didn't have time to get in much wood so I tried supplementing with coal. What a disaster - had no clue and we either roasted or froze. Never tried it again.

On my "Frankensaw" I now run a 16" bar, lighter to move, easier on saw, I figure I owe it that much. On the 039 I have the 24" bar, but that saw doesn't see much action, its only for the big trees when I can only safely cut from one side. On the new 211, I downsized at the dealer to a 14", for the same reason you guys mention, lighter, & cuts with a lot more power. That one fits on the front rack of the 4 wheeler, I like to keep my eye on it while heading out into woods, that's a pricey thing to run over.

When I worked for the state back in 1998 we had a couple of these brand new small Huskys. They had 14" bars I think, they looked a lot like the old yellow Mcculloch's, where the back handle was above the tank. Those things ran so good, couldn't stop them, then we had to get rid of them because they didn't pass some emissions BS. So they stuck us with these plastic Homelites that never cut anything because you could never get them started. The following year we got a new Poulan. They got their name because when you go to start it you keep poulan & poulan, & poulan on the cord!

You shouldn't oughta talk about his spouse like that....

Although he seems to have taken it with good humor- which I guess is a must if he's going to be posting his home-hotty on a male-dominated site like this'n.

 to BrokenTrack for being a good do-bee!

Thanks for your kind words, though there is kind of a backstory to Katie and that boiler photo.

The guys on another forum had helped me hook it up, and so knowing Katie, is cute asked me to "get a photo of my boiler and Katie just to see which one was better looking." I told this to Katie, and even to my surprise she put on her Little Red Dress and posed for photos knowing full well they were going to be posted online. I post them here because I know she does not mind, and because it gives someone something to see besides tractors.

Your truck driver showed up I take it and hauled your load of wood off? :)

The weather has definitely been a roller coaster, getting chilly at night. They said on the news that Big Black River, Maine had -3 degrees (f) the other day!! For mid-April, that is chilly!

Yes, the cold weather held long enough for him to take care of his regular customers. It took me all winter to cut that, because of the deep snow; and it was just a load. (42100 lbs.)
