lol, yeah I think the best idea is to rent 1 acre parcels for $1k to others and let them lose money, I did ask and they said I could not sublease.
and no pot can be grown here, but if growing pot I'd need to invest in security, otherwise they just get stolen.
And that is another point, this land does not have a fence around it.

I was going to grow bamboo in that other land, but it didn't need to make any profits.
I was thinking pumpkins for halloween.

Cash rents here in Ohio range from 100 to 250 per acre. I doubt there is any farmer willing to pay 1,000 bucks rental on such a little piece of land.
Pumpkins are a good cash crop. I grow a few acres each year. I figure on 800 to 1200 per acre income. Seed is not cheap, figure on a couple hundred an acre. Pumpkins do much better on plastic. That's another couple hundred per.
Of course you'll need to feed and water them. Hope there is a well close by.
Biggest issue is the weather. A cool wet fall will let fungus run wild.
Suggest you start small, say a half acre and make small mistakes. Then as you learn, you can ramp up.

Flip a few extra vehicles each year to make up the difference.

Classic car sales lot?

Used farm equipment auction site?

Skeet range?

Of course what is around you and how the land is zoned and such come into play.

Peanuts maybe. If green peanuts are popular there they will probably net more but labor is higher.

I think making it a storage lot for trucks/rv/etc would make the most money, but it is zoned residential/ag and has houses around it, a million dollar house across the street with a big horse ranch,
and the owner said can't operate a business there, my cars are a personal hobby.

I've always wanted (on paper) to have a sod farm, but that doesn't look for cheap and easy to do.
But with all the new houses going up around here, there could be a lot of demand.

Roloff's (little people big world) started out as a pumpkin farm. Unsure if they weren't more of an attraction than the pumpkins but it did make them money as a side deal (never as a liveable income). You could do some sort of themed entertainment, varying by season (Cherries inthe spring, corn in the summer, and Pumpkins in the fall) but set it up as a tourist trap. Pettin zoo for the kids. You say you are around millionaires, they can be easy prey. So can their friends. Pot is hard to break into, and you really need to consider warehouse growing. Not too many pro growers in our area open field the stuff (It is legal in both states we live in now). Never thought of hops. But farming is a volume business. Margins are so low you need large acerage to actually make money farming.

Making that kind of money farming on 15 acres is comical. Don’t even waste your time trying you will just wind up disappointed. I am sure it varies on location and crop but most farmers who know what they are doing probably make around $300 per acre per year. They have the economies of scale working in their favor.

I have around 15-20 acres I plow and plant each year. It is a hobby more than anything. My best year I made about $2000 off it.

I agree paying the rent off of a crop is very unlikely. To do some of what has been suggested without several year lease is not doable. Fifteen acres does not give you much room for growing and then parking for such as Halloween Crop Maze. The ability to make higher amounts on land farming you need a high demand crop for the near by locals either as homeowner or restaurants or specialty shops.

That probably will be produce, herbs, some animal such as miniature cattle. Those will require fencing for the animal and the other will require labor. Produce depending on your location, water and weather could be year round business. Would organic produce be in demand there? Might be option but it has been said to find someone else to do the farming and you say you can not sublease it so guess you would have to "hire" the person to farm it. Seems to me the owner is wanting a lot of control on a property they are wanting top dollar rental on. Hope you well.
