Your mirror is covering most of it, but I believe it痴 a 5 lug trailer axel. Probably overload as well.

That Kubota is about 3,500 lbs. If it's a double-axle then probably just fine. I'd think so because if it weren't then that tongue load is likely going to be really high! But, yeah, what's that one strap going to do?

Plus the loader. Plus the possibility of loaded tires.

Not really sure what is wrong with this one, gas cans are outside, strapped down. Much better than inside, not everyone has a truck.
Recall the Ford Pinto? They had a tendency to blow up whenever they got rear-ended because the fuel tanks weren't protected by the vehicle. Dangerous for everybody involved in or near a crash.

I have to get fuel, diesel, reg.,ethanol free gas in 12 containers sometimes and I use a trailer. I know it's dangerous in a crash, but even in bed of pickup it could be very dangerous.

Where are you supposed to transport gas cans? I strap them down in the bed of my truck. I think better than in the cab backseat.

Life is a gamble, each and every day. You make a conscience effort to do things as safely as possible and hope others have the same mindset. You can see from this thread that some folks have "lost" their minds and put the rest of us in danger.

Good thing he had on flip flops

I think you're right- If you pin your cursor where he started running from, it looks like it might well have cleared him- but then too it might have been swerved towards him by hitting the gutter- all in all, I think he did OK.

I like at the end he put his hands on his hips as if to say "dang idiot what the heck" (g rated version)

I think he was holding his shorts up to resist the gravitational pull generated by the extra load of brown in them- if you get my drift.

Probably just as well that he stayed hidden behind the truck afterwards.:D

Yep. Its is kind of a trade off when transporting gas containers. I was just excited about having something to post here. I've been reading this post since it started.I guess people are just too safety conscious down here.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. What’s his other option?

Put it in the back seat next to his kid in a car seat. Or if he's a smoker, on the roof. Lol.

I think tied securely to that platform is the best he can do.

But that affected all the Pinto's, especially the ones with Firestone tires, and they were a problem all the time. Hauling gas, outside the vehicle, only happens occasionally, and they are "approved cans" not glass. Could be better if they were DOT rated instead of just EPA. It really scares me when I see them put in the trunk. Mine are always tied on the back of the truck, flatbed.

I thought it was the Ford Explorers with Firestone tires. Not sure the Pinto problem was a function of tires.

Pintos had suspension mount, etc bolts that would puncture the gas tank during rear end crash.

Explorers had the Firestone tires that failed and caused them to roll. Rangers with same frame and tires also got the replacement tires. My Ranger had Firestone tires that Ford replaced for free at 67K miles.

Ahh, memories of the old '60's Ford with the gas tank inside the cab and mounted behind the seat. And everybody smoked.

Chevys too. Jeeps with the tank on the floor under the driver's seat. Old Fords with the tank behind the dash.
