I recently sent my pt-425 back to Power-Trac for a main pump replacement. When it was returned, it ran fine so I filled the gas tank and planned to use it on the weekend. When I went to start it I felt fuel on the cuttoff switch. Eventually, found that the tank bottom port that holds the elbow had a crack in it. This is a dangerous situation that could have caused a fire if I had actually used the tractor. I know there was no leak when I sent the tractor to PT for repair. I assumed this happened during the dismantling of the engine compartment to replace the main pump.
Terry was not sympathetic and said it probably happened during transport. He would not replace the tank unless I paid $248 plus shipping for a new tank.
Dose anyone know of where an alternate replacement might be found? There are no manufacturer's part numbers or any numbers on the tank?
