We have a EA 72" rotary mower and like it a lot. We previously had a heavy duty Bush Hog 72" mower and a LandPride 60". Of all of them I like the EA the most. Very sturdily built. However, all of them are good mowers.

I'd be willing to bet that the Woods is as tough or tougher than any rotary "in it's class", then factor in Woods superior blade attachment system and that turns it into a no brainer for ME.

Woods makes three versions of their brush bull cutters, the heavy duty 5' BB6000x weighs a little over 1300 lbs, the 5' BB600X weighs 1,000lbs., and the 5' BB60X weighs 600lbs. Quite a difference between metal content between the 6000 model and the 60.

But even the BB60 is far more sturdily built than a lot of the cheaper cutters out there.

I have the Yanmar version of the BB60x. I don't have many hours on it, but it seems to be built really well. The only thing I have found that I don't particularly like is the cover over the slip clutch doesn't have a way to easily remove it for access to the slip clutch and the access panels are way to small to get to the bolts on the slip clutch. However, I won't slip the clutch but once a year or so, which makes it a minor issue that I won't have to deal with much anyway. 20180604_143842.jpeg20180609_175144.jpeg

I picked up a 72" bush hog, used. Came with the orginal reciept..from christmas 1989. It was $1790 new.

So it's 30 years old - and perfect. Some surface rust, some wear on the lower sides from draging on the ground for 30 years. Otherwise, perfection. Model 256 - medium duty if I recall.

Had a king kutter before this (48", diff tractor). It was good, but no comparison - this one will run over anything and just not miss a beat, chews up 1 and 1.5" trees as if they were grass.

pic of it on my way home.

I guess you left the house thinking on the small side but found a whooper and got creative on as how to get it home. :)

50 years on a bb60 or a 5ft land pride?? Lol

Not..

Bush Hog or Deere MX are about as rugged as you can get in 5ft mower. Never saw the everything mower.

I have a robust MX7 Deere and it is light compared to the Deere 709.

I have the EA 72" and I'm happy with it. I did, however, have to buy something heavier duty for bigger stuff; the EA deck is just not sturdy enough for bigger trees, you will bend it, especially if you try to back trees down (and keep them from getting under your tractor). The EA will cut anything that I'm willing to run over. For anything bigger, I got a Baumalight open back cutter, but I can't see using that as a general purpose machine; it's just too dangerous to use anywhere near people/houses/cars because without the back, crap just blasts out everywhere. It'll cut anything I'm willing to hit with it though, I haven't really been able to find a "limit" for that machine.

it was a bit bigger than expected. two trailers - the one or a 6x12 cargo trailer. no clue how to get this in/out of the cargo trailer...

Also used this to get a set of disks and a meyer snow plow.

Met a guy that wants to swap for a 4x8 utility flatbed.
