7" angle grinder

Makita or Milwaukee

I agree on Milwaukee... I have one that's no less than 40 years old, and still runs perfectly. I've used it all day long grinding rivets, and it never even hinted at overheating or slowing down. The only drawback I've found is that it is plenty heavy, so be prepared to put some muscle into the job if you go with Milwaukee. Of course, the newer ones will weigh less, but the quality is still there.

There are a number of "good" brands, but if you want the very best you buy Sioux. They are made in the USA, and very expensive, but amazingly strong. My opinion is based on what I learned when I was in the business of repairing mechanics' air tools.

We ran Sioux in the furniture industry at one of the companies I worked...
They were very reliable and excellent quality...

do yourself a favor & get the best. anytime i now need a power tool, Bosch is my 1st choice

I have an old orange HF grinder and it's still grinding. I won't tell how I remedied the problem when the switch went out as it's probably unsafe and will kill me sometime soon.

I'll second the Bosch, did a lot of research and there's some decent units out there but the Bosch seemed to be the best unit for the money, plus the one I bought is made in Germany where a lot of the other major brands were made in China.
I haven't used it a lot but so far am very happy with it.

Had an older green HF 7in before and it wore you out to use, always had a vibration, ended life after a couple years of easy work. Melted a brush holder, not worth fixing.

For my 4.5in grinders I have 3 DeWalts, a Bosch and an older Porter Cable, they are all ok but the fit and finish of the Bosch is the best out of them.

The old school all metal 7in grinders are nice but a bit bulky for me.

If you can afford them the Metabo are also nice.

My 7-9 inch Milwaukee went T-U a couple of weeks ago.
