Does anyone make square sockets for the engine oil and transmission fluid drain plugs on a CK35?

Square drive sockets (female) and bits (male) are a fairly (un)common tool made by most automotive tool makers with a comprehensive line. I believe I bought a set from Sun-ex, reasonable and certainly adequate for drain plugs. Measure the plugs to see if they are SAE or metric; some of the smaller sizes are usable in the other standard, but be aware some manufacturers (Kubota, anyway) mix standards on the same plug. I buggered a 9mm x 1/4" NPT plug using a 3/8" socket, replaced with a 3/8 x 1/4 NPT plug from the hardware store.

Are they a weird size? I've usually been able to use the drive end of a 3/8" ratchet or extension with no socket on some machines.

Quite common to use square holes, on newer equipment it's often a metric dimension.

The Kioti CK35 has male drain plugs, so no holes and the best tool to take the plugs out would be a square drive female socket. As for the plugs, yes their size do seem a bit weird: on the two engine oil drain plugs, a 18mm wrench is too small, a 19mm is too big. The 19mm wrench might work, but there is a lot of slack. I tried a 3/4" wrench, as that measures between 18mm and 19mm. It did not fit. All the wrenches I have are either too small or too big to fit the transmission drain plug. I'll measure the plugs and see what I come up with.

I have used crescent wrenches to undo those plugs, but I would much rather use something more appropriate.

I found a six point socket in 3/4" size that fits near perfectly the engine oil drain plugs. Still looking for a better solution than a crescent wrench for the transmission plug.

Just a note. If possible when replacing a drain plug, get a steel plug versus a iron plug. A steel plug is much more used friendly.

Kioti does use some 'weird' sizes on things like grease zerks, and I'm fairly sure that the drain plugs may fall into the same, not quite metric or SAE. It may be some British or other hardly ever used other odd size, and if anyone figures it out please let the rest of us know!

Use a 3/4 to 1" adapter, backwards, with a 1" open end?

I was thinking of suggesting trying a 12 point around the size you suspect, but I thought that might sound silly.
