Anyone own one or know of something similar.
I occasionally need to take my 100 gallon propane tanks to the store for a refill. I also need to load other heavy items from time to time.
It is a bit overkill to strap the tank(s) upright on my 22' tilt bed trailer so I'm looking for a simpler motorized way to lift items such as a propane tank to transport in my pickup and saw the Larin TGL-500.
I'd like something that will mount in the receiver hitch.
I've also looked at the jack style that mounts in the hitch but prefer a motorized one I don't have to pump up by hand.

HF used to sell something very similar to the Larin but it is no longer on their site.
I'm open to suggestions and would like to keep it in the $500 or less price range.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like it's $439 at Amazon and $405 at Tool Discounter. Add $90 for shipping & tax from Amazon. Tool Discounter isn't very clear on that. They simply state that the item is too heavy for FedEx at 130 pounds and to check further for shipping alternatives.
I'm just a bit north of you in the Watertown area, so shipping/tax should be roughly the same.

Best price I found was $432. plus about $80. shipping for a new one. After some surfing I found a used one on CL and snagged it for $110.
I tested the operation when I got it home and it works fine. It easily lifted my 220#. Made minor adjustments to the up/down limit switches and replaced the quick connect power plug. I started taking it apart for sand blasting and repaint then will install and get more pics.

Apparently there wasn't too much interest in this lift but here's a few pics of the finished product all sandblasted, painted, reassembled and installed on the truck. I used it yesterday to load my 100# propane tanks and take them for refill. It worked like a charm and saved my back from lifting them. When not in use it sits on a roll around dolly. It weighs about 115# so I use my electric winch to lift it high enough to slide into the hitch.

 Gooder-un.

Does it contact the open tailgate when raised all the way up?

No it does not. There are adjustable limit cams for full up and full down positions. I adjusted my upper limit so it shuts off with an inch or so gap to not touch the gate.
I ran 6 ga. cables (red and black) along the frame up to the battery and installed a 40A breaker in line with the hot lead.

I bet that wire was as much as the lift if not more.

Actually, I misquoted myself in post 7. I ran 8 ga. not 6 ga. The lift originally came with 21' of wire when new. The seller removed the wire from his truck and included it in the sale. I have 2 rolls of 6 ga. in the garage I was thinking of using if it didn't come with wire and posted that.

I see you mentioned that you replaced the quick connect power plug. I bought one that doesn't have the power plug. Where can a person buy one?
