So for quite a few years I have been wanting a needing a tractor. Grew up with tractors so the idea was not exactly new to me. After literally 3 or 4 years of research ( all while my place just got in worse shape ) the wife and I came to an understanding last night that I was buying a tractor and she could like it or not. Much to my surprise she said I wish you would and stop talking about it. So I set out today to find my perfect tractor and had a price in mind I was willing to spend and headed to town. First stop, Green tractor joint and got me a price with the attachments I wanted save for one that I decided was not in the current budget and I could sneak it in after a couple of months. My choice from there was a 1025R. Next stop was the folks with the Orange tractors, priced the BX 2680 with exact same attachments and was surprised to find it about 500 more than the 1025 and I liked green better. So I decided I was going back and buyin the Green one. On the way back there I past by another orange store that also sold pretty red ones that said Mahindra on them. I said to myself, self you better look at those Mahindra tractors again before you do this, so I stopped. When I pulled on the lot I saw a tractor sitting with what looked like used tractors of all brands that looked brand new and had my last missing attachment I was going to wait on already on it. Naturally I went straight to it. I looked new! I checked the dash and it showed 27 hours so it obviously wasn稚 new. I thought, hmm, this may be my chance to have my cake and eat it too. Salesman come out and gave me a price, I said ok, give me out the door with my other list of desired attachments. The tractor was purchased originally by an older gentleman with the grapple after a bad ice storm a few years back. Shortly there after he up and died and it sat in his widows garage until a few weeks ago. It has actually never had a 3 point attachment hooked to it and it shows. To shorten my long story we agreed on price and I ran to the bank for a cashiers check and returned and bought the tractor. I got everything I wanted including a grapple for a couple grand less than a new 1025R without attachments and my practically new Max 28XL will be ready to pickup tomorrow afternoon!!! Bigger, more lift capacity, and even has warranty left, and under budget!!! Now there has to be a down side, what is it?

The down side, because you aren't the original owner, you might not get a Mahindra owner's hat. Maybe the dead guy's wife has it, though. Check her garage.

Congratulations, sounds like you got a good deal and Mahindra makes as good a tractor as anybody else. Good luck with it.

Congratulations! The Mitsu-built Mahindras seem very well built. They are IMO opinion a great value and definitely seem to fight above their weight.

Congratulations, Show us a picture of the grapple. I have not had much luck finding a grapple for a 28xl. I have had my Max 28XL since 2012.
