I've read about wood gasification to power farm tractors during WWII in England when fuel supplies were non-existent.

I didn't look at the article date until it mentioned that Vega and Pinto carburetor were plentiful in junkyards.... :laughing:

Today, you'd be hard pressed to find any carburetors in junkyards, as most vehicles use some form of fuel injection for the past what? 25 years?

I remember reading the original artical as a kid... parents had years of Mother Earth News boxed up, '70's and early '80's. I found them about 1990, read every one... good stuff.
