Any thoughts to contracting the haying out?[/QUOTE]

We did contract the hay out this year due to not having everything needed and having a tractor that wouldn't work and that didn't work out so good. I Had another guy talked into cutting it next year on the halfs but he is now in the process of selling out so him and his wife can retire.

If you are in the Case/NH market, why not look at LS Tractors? You could probably pick up their largest 100 horse tractor near the same price as the C/NH 70 horse. I'm just guessing on price differential but it's probably enough to put a good payment on a digger.

Honestly I know nothing about the LS tractors and haven't seen a dealer locally to talk to.

I have talked to some of the local neighbors and friends from church and they all have pretty much the same opinion being that I just need to go get the tractor that I like. Well I do agree with that but I also don't want to run into another problem like I had to deal with when I bought the Mahindra. To be honest the Mahindra did have a lot about it that I did like but when its delivered to you broke that doesn't say much for the local dealer and I need a dealer that is a bit better than that.

Look at a Kubota M7060, Case 75c, New Holland Powerstar 75, and a Massey Ferguson 4707. All great machines. Buy the one that impresses you. I looked at them all and Bought the Massey Ferguson View attachment 577045View attachment 577046

I have already looked at (had my hands all over it and my butt in the seat) the Case 75c and the NH Powerstar 75. The one thing I didn't like about the NH was the way the backhoe attached to the frame mount and even the dealer said that it was a big pain in the butt to get hooked up and that most people the bought one ended up selling it or just never use it for that reason. What I did learn is that the Case and NH are made in the same factory and if you really look at them about the only difference you can find is paint color and the decal has a different name on it yet the case was a bit more money.

Your Massey is a nice looking tractor. How has it performed for you? Is there anything you have run into that you didn't like about it?

I use my Kioti for farm/hay type work and am very pleased. I also have some steep slopes that I cut and baled this past year with no problem. I did use 4 wheel drive on the hills.:)

I baled about two thousand small bales and had 16 tons of big bales done for me.

The end of this year I will have owned it 4 years and have not had one problem.

If I'm not wrong, Kubota has come out with a line of hay equipment that I'm sure must match up to their tractors. And... you can never go wrong with a Kubota. I also opted for the separate mini ex... absolutely no comparison to a BH attachment, been there and done that...

I've got the Kioti RX7320, very similar to cat fever's machine, just a bit more HP. We put up ~150 wet 4x4 bales, some of it on sloped ground. Also disced about 12 acres (without plowing first) using a 12' transport disc. Tractor never hesitated. 0 problems but only 1 season so far.

So far, no complaints. Love the tractor, especially the transmission with its push button clutch. Loader is awesome and self leveling. It is a very heavy built machine, everything is made of steel ( hood, fenders, roof) ,weighing in at 9800# with the loader. Very beefy. The cab is huge and very comfortable. I found to Kubota and Kioti cabs very crude and small in comparison, but they are well built. Lots of great features on the MF, including external hitch control which the Kioti also has. Another big plus for the MF is a buddy seat.

Save your money on the BH attachment and buy an older used TLB or mini-ex depending on how much digging you need to do. If it’s occasional work then rent.

A BH on a CUT is only a good alternative to a hand shovel. If you are expecting a lot of digging then getting on and off the machine every few minutes to move gets stale real fast. Get a used Case 580

Interesting...Kubota is actually adding a larger cab with buddy seat option to their M7060 tractors in 2019. Perhaps for this reason!

So glad to hear you are excited about the 4707. I did take a look at it awhile back with my father for his 100 acre farm. Great machine.
