It's supposed to be a wind chill of -23c tonight. Gotta get out and put a tender on my trailer/dump battery.

Your battery is totally unaffected by windchill!
A battery at rest is only affected by outside air temperature.
Windchill affects humans and animals.

really would be interesting to know what Japanese company makes Kubota's tractor batteries.
Must have extra internal reinforcements to protect plates, prevent failure. And clearly not prone to
chemical breakdown or plate clogging. If you've ever seen a Rolls battery (no, not RR) hard not to be impressed.
Wonder who the Rolls of Japan is...Kubota sure set a high spec. I've read lots of posts of long lasting oem batteries.
Wonder if that holds true for Yanmar, Iseki and other Japanese engine/tractor builders.

Rolls is popular in the off-grid world..... for reasons you touched on.

Changing out batteries is a PITA in general...... but if they are at the end of a really rough trail, that just adds to the "fun".

My local dealer told me the batteries they have on the shelf with the Kubota label are made by Interstate. I asked them last week!

True for replacements, but not true (in our machines at least) for the one that comes in the tractor.

What you see is years old residue of radiator cap spill Looks wet in the photo but really just a higher density of dried dirt

My motorcycle is on it ninth year with its original YUASA battery but nearing the end of it's serviceable life possibly due to being undersized for the application.

I think that is the brand that came in all three of ours, it is at least what came in the B7500 and L3830.

My original Kubota battery lasted 11 years. Pretty high standards I think.

I use Interstate batteries in my vehicles. On average they last about 5 years, (except for my atv battery which lasts longer). I have an Interstate in my Kubota now. If it truly is Yuasa...I will go that route for my other vehicle batteries.
