agreed Lou, this bucket though is so lightweight though compared to the tractor weight it isn't a lot of load. I doubt it weighs 200 pounds.
Kubota bucket was heavier. I'll never take the loader itself off. But in the past used the bucket to put a load of dirt in for ballast and traction while disc'ing with the Kubota; don't have to do that now with much heavier tractor only pulling a rototiller or mowers.

Lou I expected more mud but timing was good. 2.5 inch rain two days ago got sucked up and yes, very sandy here with this field on a 1 to 2 degree slope down to a major drainage ditch, so the field drains pretty well.
simply can't buy a rock here.

Your welcome to come up here and gather all you want
I am sure you could get that response in many areas.

That Upper Mid West gravel looks different than gravel around my area, looks more red-ish. Can you pick up a full bucket load gravel without rear wheels getting light and what are you doing with it? Show us your back dragging leveling skills, there's the before, now the after.........

That load of gravel is mfg'ed gravel, it's not pit run.

In other words, it's a specific mix of clay, stone ect., the same as is used on the roads around here, and it packs very well, I wanted it to raise my drive a bit and fill a low spot. The problem is, it was delivered too wet and it's not packing well at all, so it's going to be a bit of a mess, until it dries out a bit. Once packed, I'll probably top it with some crushed concrete...

Yes, my tractor will lift a fairly full bucket load and not raise the rear, as long as I'm on reasonable level ground...

No need to use my tractor for leveling/back blading, that's what this is for,

Never heard of manufactured gravel before dont think that stuff is around here. Sounds like that would work great on my driveway. My driveway has a aprox 8-10' drop in 200' and rain keeps washing out the gravel so now I have what you might call a Jeep trail, hate paying $500.00 then in 5 years it's all washed away. How much you pay for that?

I used my backhoe to load a truck box. I was going to use my rollback but the key cylinder decided it’s time was up and locked up and wouldn’t turn. It wasn’t going to get fixed today so I had to move to plan b. Then I decided to test the lift rating of the backhoe boom. It’s rated for 2500 pounds at full extent. These blocks are 12 cubic feet each so I figure 3600 pounds combined. So I’d say it’s a good bit stronger than the rating. IMG_0924.JPGIMG_0927.JPG

It's something close to 30 bucks a yard, delivered...

Yikes! In the long run though it's probably worth it. I can get some pretty nice screened material which packs well. When used on a hill though the fines will eventually wash out so 10 or so years later it will need to be resurfaced.

Manufactured gravel at $30.00/yard, holy high price batman, no wonder that was a short post, halloween is over............Lets do some algebra, last time they fixed my driveway 20 years ago, they used 3- 18 yard dump trucks for 200', so 54 x $30.00= to much for po folks, unless the $1,620.00+ bulldozer time and the 10 year 100% warranty and guaranty is thrown in to, or is that extra...........but I dont think that stuff is around here anyways, also the last time I bought gravel 5 years ago it was $8.00/yard, might of gone up a few bucks now... Oh by the way nice bulldozer...........
