Hey guys going to do some welding tomorrow for my new plow setup. I have a Lincoln pro mig 175. I don稚 remember what the gas setting should be. My tank is a argon mix.
Thanks, big chief

Around 20 on the flowmeter is what I run as well. If you're outside or near a door that gets occasional gusts you might want to up it a bit.

20 is what I do as well with C25 gas. Just curious if this is true for other gases, Argon, Helium?

20 seems average but you can also keep turning it down until you get porosity and then just bump it up a tad. Larger wires and mill scale will need to be run a bit higher. Many of the robots I have worked worked with seem to be set at 35cfh. Add preflow and postflow and you are using up some serious gas.! Actually though you can run it as low as you can without getting porisity. I've done Tig in a controlled environment at 12cfh..

I've been running straight CO2 @ around 10 on my flowmeter for the last 30 years -seems fine unless I'm outside in the wind.

This is how I set mine, back off until porosity starts to show up then bump it up.
You can waste a lot of gas just going by settings.
I got a flow meter but it always used a lot more gas than my regulator.

I run as low as I can get by with. No sense in wasting gas /$$

20 works great. Thanks again.
It’s the prep work and the clean metal that is what really makes for good welds
