I have a Kubota L3010 that has a flat front tire. I took off all the lug nuts and tried to take the wheel off the hub. It won't come off! Not sure what I'm missing, how do you get the wheel off?

Are you taking it off to take it to be repaired?
Will it hold air for a few minutes?
If it will stay up for a few minutes, leave the lug nuts or studs on loosely and drive in a figure 8
for a bit the wheel should loosen then. The jack it up and remove.
If you can't drive it, a block of wood and a BIG hammer, keep beating till it comes loose.

I've used this successfully. A propane torch - heat the rim, right around the axle - gently. The rim will expand and should break free of the axle.

Thanks, that did the trick. I'm reluctant to really pound on something without knowing why it didn't come loose, but in this case, its ok.

I apply some never sieze to the hub and rim before reinstalling mine.

I've used that trick many times on many different things. The real trick - not too much heat and give it time. A lot of times the stuck part will release with a loud clicking/cracking sound. Most all the times it's been a combo of old rust and dirt that almost welds the parts together. A real good sanding and, like George says, an anti-seize product. It won't happen again - real soon.

Pounding can bend things. Then you have just added to your problems.

I rolled the bead off on my front tractor tire once. I got it to inflate again by putting a ratchet strap around it and manually pulling it around to help seal the remaining gaps. It helps to take the valve stem out to get in more air faster. If the tire is busted then you’re back to square one.

Which method did the trick? Driving around with loosened lug nuts or heat? Just curious. I've used both methods.

Someone here on TBN told me this same trick many years ago when I had my small pneumatic tires on my casters break the bead and come off the rim. Works great! Tighten that strap and then inflate.

I would sooner the wheel be hard to come off than deal with that horrible anti seize. I mean we're not talking galvanic action between alloy and steel.
