Just a question. I believe there is no mechanical stop on the 3 point hydraulic control lever on the YM1510. Or am i wrong and is it only not on my YM1510. How can the lever being locked so that the three point does not lower when accidentally touching it with my leg? Any suggestions.
Thanks.

Re: 3 point hydraulic control lever stop

There is a round knob under your seat. Turn that knob clockwise to lock the 3ph where it is at and counter clockwise wise to open back up. But remember if you lock it you won't be able to use the 3ph. See attached picture 3ph.PNG

Thanks, does that not damage the hydraulic pump when raising the lever accidentally? And what about the drop speed valve. Can it be used for it by closing it. Which one is better to be used to lock the three point .

I don't think the drop speed valve will stop it from lowering completely and will not do anything for the raise speed. The operation manual says to not raise the three point with the lock valve closed. I don't think (I don't know) it will probably do immediate damage if you accidentally bumped it once or twice (I can't imagine Yanmar engineers building in a self destruct mechanism) but it is certainly not good for things or they would not have put the warning in bold and under the giant warning symbol.

It is possible to just bend the lever out of the way a little so you don't bump it? I have used a 1510 quite a lot and don't remember that being a problem.

I agree with Aaron

Thanks for the info. I will try to bend the lever a little. Hopefully this will help. Annoying there is no mechanical stop on it.
Thanks.

Use two wrenches to bend it. Don't just push on it.

I broke mine off, and found an incomplete weld where the lever connects to the transmission shaft. (YM186D, same mechanism). But it was easy to re-weld it back on.

Would adjusting the upper and lower limit stops accomplish what you want? They are on the shaft that goes back horizontally on the right side. I carry a 10 mm wrench to adjust that sometimes, after changing implements.

Thanks California, I saw that little shaft and was wondering if it could be done that way. I will try that.

Good idea California. I didn't think of that. I don't have any issues with my leg bumping into the lever so never thought about that much.

I've occasionally bumped the lever by turning around to look behind. Then found the mower going higher.
