Why are we still using ethanol?

The "game" is rigged against the farmer. They would rather not use fertilizers and/or chemicals. They are forced to by a manipulated market, governmentally altered, to satisfy us the consumer.

To quote a movie line, "This is how we want it, so, this is how we get it".

Not to mention the impact of growing corn in the first place. It's like mining your whole farm, then you dump nitrogen and minerals back in. The nitrogen leaches down and ends up accumulating just above the aquifer, if your lucky, or down into it. Pretty destructive environmentally speaking.

So ethanol is NOT a green product...... amazing !

Which I think is even worse than over fertilizing. Just east of me several wells have been polluted beyond use due to herbicide contamination leaching from surrounding farm lands. No-till farming does saves fuel and reduces soil erosion, among other benefits but creates other problems. It's a vicious cycle. :confused3:

I don't think you can find a body of water in the U.S. that doesn't contain traces of atrazine (roundup).

Kinda like electric cars. Huge Carbon Footprint.

15 years ago or so the Jeep Wrangler had the smallest Carbon Footprint of American made autos.
