The Flu Vaccine is at best an educated guess... some years effective and others not so much.

Other Vaccines are often spot on... no guessing about it.

I do find it odd that vaccine manufacturers have almost de-facto immunity from lawsuits and the government fund to cover injuries has paid out millions...

A cornerstone of medical treatment in the United States is informed consent... yet when it comes to vaccines it seems to be a non issue.

Case in point... I had been on the job for 25 years as Hospital Director of Engineering prior to my small community based/owned facility being bought by a large 100,000 employee Hospital Giant.

As part of the on-boarding... we all were sent to Occupational Medical Clinics for pre employment... it was a horrible experience and varied widely depending on where you were sent...

As directed I brought in a my full childhood and adult vaccination records... the provider said these are really old and told me to roll up my sleeve as they would administer the full series now... I said wait a minute... then I was told not to worry as my employer would be picking up the full cost... like this was even part of my decision process.

I flatly refused since I provided ALL information as requested... then it got interesting... I was told that this might mean my employment would end at take over... I said understood and reiterated my position and stressed I do not give my consent...

Well this went all the way to corp and I was called in to speak with HR... mind you I had 25 years of work history... NEVER a sick day, NEVER an absence and exemplary in every way...

The individual for the entire organization came back and asked if I would consent to a Titer and I said yes... this is where blood is drawn to check for antibodies...

The Titer came back and I was fine... my records matched the Titer results which I fully expected.

Others were actually upset they were not offered Titer testing... I said did you ask or simply go along with the program??? these are RN for the most part and Administrators.

Here is the dirty secret... it is cheaper to simply dose everyone than do individual Titers...

I am an individual... I take very good care of myself... my record proves this and they came very close to losing me... which would have simply meant early retirement...

I do have a real problem when the masses move in lockstep simply because a clinic Medical Assistant or PA says jump.

I have to report all medications to my employer. I am subject to random tests. 1st violation....termination,. It is spelled out quite clearly. Even alchohol. Spelled out in explicit detail . Test positive on the job..(there are specific levels).termination
you can't LEGALLY discriminate against a disabled person, if a person needs prescription drugs to function, that's considered disabled, and your company could be setting itself up for a BIG fall!!..

I got a flue shot once, Will never do it again!

For years I rarely ever got sick. A cold to me even when most around were down and out for days meant the sniffles for a day and the next day I would be fine. The year I got the flue shot I ended up bed ridden with colds, sinus infections and every flue symptom known more times than I can count. Then it took almost 10 years before I stopped getting seriously sick with every cold and flue going around each year.

Itç—´ been a long time and I refuse any flue shot they offer and I no longer get sick each year like I did for years after that flue shot. So basically no one on this earth will be able to tell me that a flue shot is good for me and will never be able to get me to let someone stick me with an unproven medicine again.

Basically the yearly flue shot is an unproven medicine at best, at worst itç—´ a guess of what someone in a lab thinks will help you to fight the most recent string of viruses that is going around. My experience and what I see happen to others who get them flue shots and always end up sick anyway tells me eating healthy and staying in the best physical shape possible is always a better preventative than a flue shot.

Other thing to do is drink a shot of old fashioned Apple Cider Vinigar once daily.

Advice from an old man who hadn稚 been sick a day in his life until he got a flue shot and after struggling for 10 years after it hasn稚 been sick since!

Take it or leave it but I rather avoid putting things in my body which only stand on limited testing like a yearly changed flue shot actually is.
Does anyone really understand the time limited testing they have to developer that yearly flue shot, compared to the vaccines of old?

And you can't put someone on a machine that's on prescription drugs that may make them uncoordinated, unstable on their feet, drowsy, etc... They'll get injured. We had several people that we let go because they were on some meds that made them not be able to function. Then they sued. And they lost. We did everything we could to accommodate them, but in the end, they could not perform the task(s) safely.

What about all the people who have high blood pressure and don't know. I've taken high blood pressure meds all my adult life. I can get really "loopy" if I forget to take the meds. High blood pressure, W/O meds, can make a person really "loopy" and pass out or even have a seizure.

The question is - are we providing safety on the job OR is this just another way of discrimination.

I worked at a place that did random testing. I was tested and the meds showed up on their tests( thank God). They were prepared to terminate me until they understood the situation. I was prepared to sue their A**ES right into the poor house.

I had indicated, very clearly, on my job application that I had high blood pressure and took meds for this condition.

The IDIOT who was their Employee Manager found himself in a rather embarrassing position. You could see him as he attempted to cover himself in bull sh*t and blather.

A painter I hired had to go up north for a while to a rehab program. Childrens Aid caught him smoking dope in front of his children and so he had to go for rehab, if he had any hope of seeing his kids again, which was a total lie. Government, what do you expect? Anyway, the poor guy got up there on his own dime, only to be surrounded by Indians poking holes in Lysol cans with a nail. The staff up there basically asked this painter guy, what are you doing here, you don't belong here. Poor guy couldn't win for loosing. Sad what people do to themselves..

Based on the single testimony of your experience, I think everyone should smoke cigarettes each day of their life. My dear tenant was nearly deaf and nearly blind, but smoked at least 2 cigarettes a day and lived to be 92! Proof cigarettes are good for you.
