I just got in from pushing snow around, kind of a practice run for the foot or two claimed to be coming in this weekend's storm.
I finally got my load of poplar hauled, so took advantage of the warm moonlit evening to clean the log yard up.

My only seat time was in taking the tractor to the end of the lane, which next time I will do on the driveway, as the overland route sure
shows how unforgiving R1's and a heavier tractor are on my lawn. Oh well...
Going back to dealer to fix steering and install a rear camera, plus hydraulic top link.

Then when I get it back a full rototilling of the fields and it's time to plant collards.

What are your impressions of that tractor, your MF4707 in post 9073?
How's the cab? Fit and finish of baby parts and castings like axles? Good looking tractor.

That first picture of the tractor says MF, are they made in China?

Take a Tour of AGCO's Changzhou Operations - YouTube

The good thing about Agco is they own Fendt and other high line tractors, and lots of corporate knowhow went into designing this
"global" series (a wonderful euphemism for made in China...) and setting a high spec for the tractor. It's only been out three years but so far the reviews have been very positive. I have nothing to compare against, never owned this size tractor before.

All I know is I sit in that seat, sink down into the air suspension, the ride of the tractor is smooth as can be with those big radials. I can see through my glass roof and most importantly, I can afford it. Only negative is having to be more careful with wrecking the lawn with those tires, but it normally stays outside that area.

yes, made in China is why I can afford it, and 25k less than comparable JD.

The best I could do here was buy from an American company. I think where stuff gets built any more
is becoming irrelevant, as long as it's a "friendly" country, the quality is there and you can get parts.
Otherwise looks like MF builds my 4700 series here from 70 to 100 hp, and then a new 5 series up to 135hp I'm guessing on the same
frame.

I look at a lot of youtube videos on China, and the fact we equate China with Harbor Freight and Dollar General is going to be an uphill battle for them. I had a choice between a loaded 4R JD and the MF 4707. Both cost the same, one tractor almost half again the capability of the other, other than maneuverability, which isn't so hot with this MF due to turning radius.

The fact that China is a communist country has to concern any and all of us. But that's not a topic for here.
Yesterday's bad guys are today's good guys...

Most of MF's smaller tractors are either Iseki or Mitsubishi, so just about every small MF you see anywhere is Japanese and not built here.

anywhere where theres a motor on it.

yup, you and me both. Last year, before I started "decluttering" I counted 24 motors to maintain around my place.
Old motors, new motors, with or without wheels.
I probably should have been an oiler on a train, seem to enjoy using a grease gun more than I should...;)

Thanks Rick and Mike. I only ever had problems with my R4's in front with a load in the FEL, but this tractor weighs more than twice what my Kubota did so I'm learning that weight is no friend anywhere near the lawn.
I call it my poor man's JD 6...which to me is sort of the Mercedes S class (Maybach?) of utility tractors. With a price to match.
This just has none of the complexity of the more sophisticated Deere product, which for a play farmer like me is just fine.

All these model numbers we compare tractors by. Plus JD has two different size 5 models. Mine is more comparable to a 5R, I think...and the price of a new Camry cheaper...

Maybe like how many plow shares one can pull, how about
how many steps up into the cab. I only have a two stepper so that puts me pretty far down on the totem pole...;) though it is quite a lift up.

Other than pto hp, lift capacities and weight how can we compare, size of rear tires? These are 34's. Honestly overkill for what I do but I wanted a nice tractor
going out the door...Always thought the front Kubota tires were wimpy, no complaints here...this frame tractor is made for a lot more horsepower than my measly 70...

We are all pretty much stuck in either waiting for mud to go away or waiting for next snow storm.
Careful going for all of you in the snow. I read about a lot of guys slipping and falling here.
Hey Daugen,
My dealer said that the 4707 is supposed to be spec'd with the 30 in Trellborg tires, not the 34" because its the lowest hp in the lineup.mine has the 30". 20190113_164723.jpeg
