Looking to purchase Mahindra 2655
Live in Washington State and while searching through tractors for sale have noticed that east coast tractors are much cheaper than here. Difference is enough that I’ve even considered dragging my trailer 2500 miles and picking one up. Why the big difference?

Most compact tractors are imported through Georgia or South Carolina.

Wages in the south are lower than wages in the PNW or NE.

In several south and midwest states ag equipment is sales tax exempt.

Buy local and then you don't worry about any potential after sale issues even if unlikely. I would be surprised if the difference in cost after factoring in your time is worth it. Good luck and keep us posted on the outcome.

Pricing for things can often be regional, often related by demand. How would you feel if you drove that far and the tractor was sold or some other similar thing.

Try and get the local dealers to come down on their prices to match. Hopefully you can meet in the middle.

If you are willing to consider a NEW tractor you should price the TYM.
Call around to see what sort of price you can get on a new one (I do not own one).

Relatively close to you, there are TYM dealers in Roy,WA., Astoria,OR.,The Dalles,OR., and Langley,BC.
Should not be much shipping cost as their tractors are directly imported to California from Korea.

TYM seems to be the best bang for the buck, and they are actually a manufacturer, not an re-brand retailer like Rural King (built by TYM), in the Midwest/East.

I have looked at the TYM's, and they are VERY nice!!

I think you will also find that they are less expensive than Mahindras.

If you're looking at used tractors, there's fewer CUTs on the west coast than midwest, northeast or south. Just look at the locations of the posters here.

New tractor prices won't differ as much as shipping from Georgia or wherever is a small part of the overall cost. However it may be harder to find discounts off list on the west coast, depending on where you are. I'm not too far from the SF bay area and everything is more expensive here.

Where shipping will make a big difference is with smaller implements. I was looking for a sub soiler (a simple 3pt attachment) and for most of them, shipping to CA doubles the cost. Truck shipping has a minimum cost.

If you are not concerned about a local dealership relationship then I would contact brunospowersports.com. Why travel all that way when you can get free delivery from Brunos. I have not purchased anything from them but I did have a friend by a tractor off them and within 2 weeks he had his tractor at the lowest price he could find and no shipping costs. If you call them the price is even better than what they show on their website.

Agree with Maineguy1, check out Bruno's. I also know of someone up in Washington State who bought from them , no problems with the delivery or tractor.

Kubota Headquarters is/has been California with a huge distribution warehouse and I noticed the same thing... prices here tend to be more expensive.

There was a Dealer in Oregon that was very competitive and sold mostly to California and Washington... last I checked the place was closed.
