RX7320 owners....

Hey cat fever, have you ever pulled a mouldboard plow of any kind with your 6620? If so, how many bottoms were you able to comfortably pull with it? I'm thinking I'd like to get a 4-14 turnover that is posted on CL that was either near Pokey or maybe a ways north of that. Just don't want to get too much plow, although I guess I could just drop a bottom if I had to.

also how wide is your rear tire to fit in that 14" furrow?
I seem to recall that you were also looking at a set of 3-16's.
That 16" furrow may fit you rear tire much better.
3-16's = 48" of plow coverage compared to 4-14's at 56"
The 3 16's will pull a bit easier and be less weight hanging out back and swinging around.

I have only pulled a 90" disc and a 11' spring tooth harrow. Both of which were no problem at all.

I believe you had a bunch of pictures posted in a different thread of using your tractor to dig either a water line or a foundation for a shop. From following what you have used yours for definitely helped to sway me towards my decision. I just hope I have as good of luck with my tractor as you've had with yours!

Your tractor would most likely be able to pull the 4-14's, we pulled 4-14's with a Farmall 400 when she was new and then 4-16's with the 560.
But we also plowed in first and second gear because of all the stones, those were trip plows so a large stone would trip the bottom that caught it and you would have to stop and backup a couple of feet to reset that bottom.
But that was also about the maximum they would pull also, people with nicer ground would be pulling one bottom less and a gear higher as the field would look much better.
In the days of mostly all mouldboard plows a well setup tractor and plow when a field was finished you could not tell how many bottoms where used. When a green operator or a tractor was not set right for the plows you could and still can look at a field and tell how many bottoms were on the plow from the patterns in the field.

What I'm taking away from what you said is that even though my tractor might pull the 4-14s, it might be faster and cleaner with the 3-16s.
I don't have any rocks, but it is dense clay. It is also very, I dunno, lumpy. How sub irrigated ground gets the big round lumps that just seem to lift up from the ground. That is one reason for wanting to use a mouldbard plow is that I'm hoping that will help to smooth out the lumps.

I always thought plowing was to uproot unwanted vegetation. But hey, I'm just a hobby farmer with no real long term experience. Maybe others could add to this.

Yes, I am wanting to do that too and that is my primary purpose for wanting to plow. My field has never been worked before. There are mounds approx 6"-18" diameter and maybe 6"-10" tall dotted all across the lower part of the field. There are gopher mounds all across the upper parts of the field. Im hoping the moldboard plow will help to start leveling all of this out a bit, as well as plow under the existing vegetation.

A moldboard plow will roll the vegetation over and down, plowing is only step one of prepping a field to plant.
After plowing it may need disking, if it has heavy vegetation existing on it, it may need discing before and after plowing.
Then harrowing either spring tooth or spike. Then possibly a cultipacker to firm the seed bed if drilling in grain or grass seed.
Clay ground can be tough to work up well, if you get on it when it has too much moisture and try and plow it will pack,
and make clods, to dry and it crumbles and makes power which will settle and crust over when it gets wet.
disking and cross disking may level your ground and leave your seed bed usable.
