Now I'm going against everything I believe in, and contrary to what I post here. I found a nice looking F250 with a good price at a dealership down in North Carolina, outside of the Rust Belt. I sent them a few questions, mostly about GVWR and getting it legal to drive up here to Maine. I'm not going to buy it without looking at it, but flying down there is about the equivalent to me. It's just what I'm looking for, clean and basic... I had forgotten that you could even buy a vehicle in 1995 which only had an AM radio.

Two of them. Drove my old cars down to drop off, drove the two (new to me) ones home. Still driving both about 15 years later.

Yep, a slightly used Wrangler from a dealer about 300 miles away. Lots of photos, car fax, detailed questions and put $500 buck down on it (credit card). Drove up with a check from the credit union and came home with it. It was exactly as described and how it was in the photos. Price was great and was exactly what we wanted.

How far? Was it a done deal before you saw them?

Answer is YES.
A jeep from a government web site and after a few questions I bid, flew to get it and never regret it.
That jeep (after adding a plow earned me lots of $'s)
It is all in the questions you ask.
Also have bought on EBay with similar satisfactory results.
Ask the right questions (and hope for honest answers) Tone of answers are your guide.

If it is a dealer most are pretty sued to selling to people out of state via the internet. Sort of normal nowadays. Ask for a LOT of photos, often they will do videos of the car/truck running, driving, etc... They know you don't want to travel without some sort of comfort it is as represented.

We ordered a new 1984 Pontiac Fiero without seeing one. We had read up on it, liked it and ordered away.. we saw one at another dealer before our order came in, but were not allowed to sit in it or drive it.. Had a blast with that car, no regrets, had to sell when we started our family.

2 years ago i was looking for a convertable for me and the wife to cruise locally in since we don't spend much time
on the bike like we used to. (bad back, etc). after looking locally i found an 03 toyota spyder MR2 online,
on ebay, in Oregon of all places (i'm in upstate NY). the day the auction ended we were in a bar watching
a football game and i made 1 bid of +$100 at the end thinking "what the ****"..
come to find out i won the bid, and my phone rang right away. it turned out to be a used car dealer,
he asked for a deposit on pay pal, and i asked for some more info about the vehicle, and he sent
me a copy of the title, and i bought a carfax report online, and everything checked out so i finalized the deal.
i arranged trucking ($800) and it took about 2 weeks to get it here. i was like a kid on christmas morning!
cleaned the car up, had to clear a code from a faulty gas cap, tuned it up and serviced it and we love it.
it was nice dealing with a dealer that did online sales, and seemed fairly reputable, good website, phone numbers
all published and matched etc.

I purchased total of seven vehicles online, based on photos and VIN history reports. All vehicles have been exceptional buys, and without any mechanical problems years after driving them. In all cases, i also researched and verified the dealer doing the sale, is both professional and with high integrity.

If your picking up in another state, please insure you have vehicle insurance coverage on the vehicle before driving home. Sales tax is deferred at time of sale, if your registering the vehicle in your home state.

Where is it at in NC? Might be able to take a look at it for you?
