Sort of a forerunner to the HF stores. Chas. Homeier was one, but there was at least one more that I can't remember the name of. They'd put signs up all over when they came to town. They'd set up in K of C , Rotary Club or other Civic Center type halls that rented space. Sometimes just in big tents. In some, you'd walk through a display area with a checklist on a clipboard writing down item numbers. Then you'd pay and go out to a semi trailer where guys inside would fill your order. In others, you'd carry a basket and pick things off the stacks.

I still have a metric wrench set I bought from a traveling sales "whatever you call it" back in 1980. They have a life time warranty, which I thought was a joke. But I don't believe I ever broke one!.

20 plus years ago I purchased a 1/2 inch air wrench off the Homier truck. It's been a really good unit rated at 450 ft pounds of torque. All metal construction and very reliable.

there was a group called Cummins tools and I think there was a group before them, I think there gone now, but there junk was worse than harbor freight, when they were in business,

I ended up with some of the tools after a friend died, the head of the hammer I was using to hammer in a staple broke the head in half, had some pry bars, from the same thing, most bent and straightened out when used, (to pry off hub cap).

I went to one of there sales when they called it an auction, they tried to auction the junk off, hardly any one would bid on any thing,

I do not know if they went belly up or not, but I have not seen them for many years,

I went to one about a dozen years ago, or more. I saw a lot of things in their flyer that I wanted, but when looking at them in person, I walked away. Kind of what happens when I go to Harbor Freight.

Homier doesn't have to have traveling tool sales any more when they are selling their products through Home Depot, Menards, and Rural King.

They had some stuff that was ok, I have some stuff that I bought from them that still works just fine... I kinda miss them, haven't seen one in these parts for 12 years or so.

Of all the things I found and bought there that most people would never have expected, I have a decent Oak dining room table with 6 chairs. I didn't remember that was where I got it until I was going through some old files a while back and found the receipt.

Cummins are the same ones I remember. Traveling town to town. I think they were men that ran the carnival rides in the summer time.. Quite the bunch....!
