The research I have seen blames it on kids living in a sanitized environment where they don't come into contact with dirt, feces, insects, and other challenges to their immune system. If you don't want your kid allergic to peanuts let them eat dirt and clean the chicken house.

A lot of other people are blaming it on the amount of pesticides used in the fields vs years ago.
I'm not against responsible use per se yet some of you sound like the professor who taught the herbicide course I took in 1989, who claimed that the only harm Agent Orange caused was acne.

If researchers knew everything there is to know about what causes cancer...cure all's would not be so elusive...

I think you are making a big assumption that someone is actually looking for a cure...for anything. It is all about "Managing". Manage the condition, the pain, various symptoms, even its trans missive potential. No money in a cure.

A nephew who's got more letters behind his name than in it says there never will be a cure, due to the very nature of the disease. His field is microbiology and at one time helping find that cure was his goal.

Results prove you wrong. Cancer is dozens of separate diseases, many of which have been cured. Childhood leukemia has a 90% cure rate. Colon cancer can be prevented and cured with regular screening. In fact, almost any cancer can be cured if you catch it early enough. My wife has been cured of kidney cancer. My brother has been cured of malignant melanoma. One of my co-workers went through a bone marrow transplant for leukemia. That was over 10 years ago, and her cancer has not come back.
