I own a Nortrac 204C 2007 with the Y380 engine. I replaced the fuel tank, so I disconected the wires under the dash including all the gauges. My problem is when I started to reconect the wires I looked in the owner's manual and found the diagrams and wire numbering do not match what is on my tractor. I looked all over the net. Any information would help me out of this pickle. Thanks.

Been there, done that. Sorry I can't help with your specific machine, but I can offer a piece of advice to keep it from happening again in the future. I always take pictures with my phone (multiple, from different angles, with the flash on to be able to see stripes and colors on wires) before disconnecting anything complicated. That way I can always at least get it back to the way it was before I started. Hope someone can help you out!

Thanks I'll remember believe me.

A lot of times, especially on machinery that is a few years old, the wiring will take a set, and will want to go back into it's original position when the loom is moved back into place. The terminal ends and connectors should pretty much swing into place and not need to be 'fussed into position' like a new wire would.

This has saved many a shadetree mechanic.

However, sometimes there's just too many "too-close-to-call" wires, and it leaves you scratching your head.

If you're not certain, you may have to go through the process of ringing out wires from source to destination. It's frustrating, but you have to do it or risk damaging things.

I will look into that. Much appreciated.

That is a last resort but your right I may have to do it. I have also been thinking about disconecting all wires and then only reconect what is needed to operate the engine and since it is a desiel it may be another option either way it will be frustrating. Thanks.

Look at it this way.... you'll get a self-paced education in tractor wiring 101.

Just a W.A.G. here, but won't the gauge be wired directly to the sensor that measures what the gauge is displaying, and the other wire is connected to a common neg (-)? I know that sounds overly simple when in reality it's not. But wouldn't one expect to see the same color wire at the pressure or fuel sending unit, or temperature sensor, etc.. that you see at the respective gauge?

Did OP disconnect wires from key switch? Those would be tricky reconnecting.

Yes, you'd hope to see different color wires on each sensor, and you'd hope that wire goes directly to the gauge.
