What is better, single or double row cultipacker?
My tractor is 7ft wide, and assume need at least that wide and maybe more. Finding many on craigslist, but as with all used stuff there can be issues.
Any wisdom when looking at used stuff?

What's better?

What's better by far, is a "crow foot" cultipacker... After that, just get one that "at least" covers your tire tracks.

Bought an old 8ft dunham last year . It still has the old wood bushings, it is a single row and it worked great on my food plots , i might try to put some real bearings on it this yr. There is a guy close to me who rebuilds old ones and sells them.

I have an old John Deere 12 foot two row cultimulcher (cultipacker with clodbusters between the rows). Use it behind the disc for smoothing and experimenting with it right now for terminating cover crops to plant into them (run over them the first time to flatten them and then at 90 degrees to crimp and terminate the stalks).

I'll be ordering a bush hog 3D96 disc harrow so I'm thinking about what to use afterwards

Only grass for now. Have ripped up a bunch on trash trees and other crud. Going to be ripping up more with track loader. Have fields with ruts from heavy equipment, chicken house and other things. Plan to use disc to help smooth it out, then pack, then seed

any old heavy cultipacker will work fine.

I bought a 7 foot Brillion one row. I was disappointed in its performance. With our heavy clay it wasn’t heavy enough to break up clods. I would get a double row if possible, and as heavy as you can find.
