Monsanto loses Roundup lawsuit

Maybe the parents didn't pay no attention to the kids running after the fogger. Kids always slept better those nights.

I dunno, I am 66 years young, and all of the kids in our neighborhood knew to stay away when they were fogging
:confused3:

I guess, if us kids wanted to know if it was safe to run after the fogger, then we should have made the short ten mile trip to the library on our bicycles to find out.

I had a steam engine at five and always ran around construction sites in bare feet. I don't remember my parents ever expressing any safety concerns over anything I did. I guess bubble wrap wasn't even invented back then.

Just finished reading this thread. Seems to me that even those defending Glyphosate as completely safe would be ok with "as long as you don't drink it" added to the safety statement. My concern is for the pollinators and other insects which do actually swim in it and drink it. Around my place we have some beautiful blooming bushes which used to be so alive with bees that you could hear them from a distance. This year, so far, I have seen less than 20 bees, no joke. And there are far less birds, but whether it is connected is conjecture. I know that there have been bee mites and such things attacking the bees, but the other pollinators are missing too, various winged buzzing insects which aren't bees but love blooms. There is apparently a connection between glyphosate and the breakdown of the gut wall of insects (use any search engine, type "insect gut glyphosate"). I understand that our modern food supply is largely dependent on no-till ag and glyphosate, but I just wonder if we haven't already caused more harm than we realize. Bugs are at the bottom, we are at the top, if they go, so do we, eventually.

I have counted over 100 robins in my front yard one time, and about the same many multiple times.
I see woodpeckers daily.
Yesterday I saw 4 cardinals.
I just was out front and a hummingbird flew up!
I have butterfly's, and assorted other winged creatures.
Maybe I see these more this year now that I am retired, not sure.

What I am sure is I have used Roundup for the last 25 years maintaining my 15 acre paradise.
Not going to stop any time soon.

To my knowledge, people....adults and children....live longer healthier lives than the centuries before us. Look at how many people are killed and injured by car accidents. Shall we sue all the auto manufacturers? Shall we all get off the highway and turn in our cars? I guess we would like to sue God for the imperfect world that we have made of it.

But God has no money. We only sue those who have the money that we hope to collect. For many of us, life is a ***** and then we die........ without the money.

Cheers,
Mike

Well stated Mike. I totally agree.

If I get Cancer I'm suing Dairy Queen. I love their $5 chicken strip lunch.

Recommended reading: "DDT: A Case Study in Scientific Fraud" by J. Gordan Edwards, PhD (entomology).

Dr. Edwards was a stalwart in defending DDT from what he felt was fraudulent, activism-driven science. He was involved in numerous studies showing DDT didn't impact birds. For years, he ate DDT on a regular basis in front of his students, to demonstrate how benign it was to humans. Edwards died of a heart attack at age 84, while hiking, after having directly consumed a lot of DDT for more than 30 years.

Meantime, the DDT ban is estimated to have substantially contributed to tens of millions of preventable deaths from malaria. Rachel Carson may be the greatest mass murderer in human history, and she is lionized by environmental activists.

Bottom line: There are evil forces at work on both sides of these issues. Either side will lie to get what it wants, and there are legions of allies that will support the lies.

Do I trust Monsanto? Not particularly.

Do I believe that Glysophate is harmful to people when used as directed? No.

At least you guys still have one and two dollar bills.

Here in Canada we have coins for those denominations. When we tip with a “bill” it’s a minimum $5.

Last I checked “dancers” don’t like making change.
